    In reality, someone with about 60k salary will lose to the taxman ~17.5k, which is not exactly half. Bear in mind that this includes access to healthcare free as in beer.

    If it is the same UK where I work and pay taxes, then pay is billed at 20%, 40% and 45% from ~11.5k, 33.5k and then 150-fucking-k.

    If lower costs only means higher profits, why today we have available supercomputers in our pockets for less than a keyboard used to sell?

    I remember an offer for a computer system in the early 1990s, whereas the keyboard was priced, no kidding, 110 pounds.

    Step 3 has this small flaw: when other people observe seemingly large profit opportunity, they will enter the market in droves, which will bring the price down to where it belongs. Amazon is not the only entity on earth with plenty of resources.

    May be it is not so much free market at work as it is Just-In-Time logistics not quite working. As the logistical chains get longer and more complicated, they get much more fragile. Minimising working capital tied in reserve supplies being the bean counters imperative in latest decades will eventually lead to more severe consequences.

    The weight of a unit is 1622 kg for the battery and another 1200 kg for the inverter. If one inverter is needed per battery, the total weight will be about 4000 tons.

    Boeing 747 400F max payload is around 123 tons

    The basic rate of personal income tax in UK for 2016/2017 tax year is 20%. First 11000 are tax free, so 50k gross salary is taxed at approx 18% (9200). Because there is national insurance payment on behalf of the employee, total burden will be £13,533.20, approx. 27%

    This is exactly what we have in Bulgaria - 10% flat tax on personal income and 10% flat tax on corporate profits. Flat meaning minimum wages are taxed also at 10%.
