Re:Ads will just evolveI'm with the 80%: I have the right to block what I want and allow what I want. I'm not 'taking your content' (the same excuse that the RIAA makes for declining CD sales), I have the right to use whatever is connected to the internet. That's fine, but you missed my point - I'm saying that because of people like you that just want to take stuff and not even go to the absolutely minuscule effort of letting people deliver ads to the sites that you want, you're just making it more likely advertisers figure out a more effective way to put ads in your face - maybe like this, perhaps. Or interstitials. Or just going to subscription-based content. I'm sick of all the sites that claim bandwidth-costs as an excuse to stuff their pages full with ads and rake in $k's. Well, through the grace of a corporate sponsor, we have no bandwidth costs, but our bandwidth costs would be significant - we move more than 30Tb a month of data.
Fortunately, your sort of lazy and frankly rude attitude is not prevalent - yet - and advertising is still making sites enough money so we don't have to worry about these changes.
There are a lot of arguments either way, but at the end of the day, I value the excellent free content and information I get from sites like Slashdot, and I have no problems seeing their ads - some of which are interesting to me (things like Splunk which I prolly never would have heard about if not from an ad on Slashdot). -

Re:PowerGlove only #7??
So if those are the 10 worst, what are the ten best? The Logitech wireless PS/2 controller?
My top three:
3) The Epyx 500XJ for Commodore 64 or anything else that had that interface. Durable as hell, much more ergonomic, and quick reaction time on the button after the learning curve.
2) The Logitech wireless PS/2 that you mentioned. 50+ hours battery life, no lag, great distance.
1) The hulking NES Advantage. The only controller I've ever used that came close to simluating an arcade experience. It cost $40, which was like $1,000,000 at the time, but I loved it so much I bought another to replace the one my friend broke. -
NES Advantage
Back when I was bratty and beat my controllers when I died in a game. My NES Advantage took it all.
Now THAT was a controller.

Re:hmm...
FYI, playing games on Xbox with PS2 controllers has been thoroughly owned. A quickie Google search brought me this. Seems you can get these babies at a lot of game shops, practically anywhere on the internet, and probably Radio Shack, which is where I got my adapter to turn a PSOne/PS2 controller into a USB game pad.

the old standby
As long as you can let go of the controller to cheat in long jump on the new version of Track and Field... sign me up. I'm all for having a different style of controller. All the rest of the controllers are the same species... held the same way. $10 says they release a special conventional controller anyway. And sadly this controller will cost more than $10. Re:MadnessPardon me sir?
The NES Advantage was the best controller ever. End of discussion. The turbo features on it were inspired - you could actually control the amount of turbo you needed. Besides, the thing was sturdy as a brick. It was truly a controller ahead of its time.

Re:I don't have to rate it...
Having never heard of Cosmic Race before, I threw it at Google and came across this review... one of the complaints the author had was the controls. (D-pad strafed up, down, left, and right. Turning was circle + square, acceleration/brake the shoulder buttons.)
I was reading them over and I can see how they make sense -- they're quite similar to using WSAD to strafe and +mlook, except it's just turning instead of looking around.
... *shrug* :) -
Re:Best Game
Or, just use and NES Advantage (8bitjoystick.com). Crank up the turbo and away you go!
