Re:Superman III
In all the Superman III hate, what everyone is forgetting is this: When Richard Prior was causing mayhem with the city grid, at one point he MADE A DON'T WALK SIGNAL GO OVER AND STRANGLE THE WALK SIGNAL!! Yes, you read this right. He hacked a traffic signal so that the stick figure pedestrians moved and then fought with each other. If you haven't seen the movie, I think this sums up just how utterly terrible it is. Stupid password hacks are in many movies, but in no other movie did a Don't Walk signal go over and strangle a Walk signal.

Re:Scalzi on Stross on ST
Oh, Jesus. That was actually an episode? I remembered that story, but attributed it acute food poisoning and hallucinations.
SUMMARY: Tom Paris, navigator of the starship Voyager, discovers a way to travel at warp 10. Which, until now, was apparently a "theoretical impossibility", and means the same thing as achieving "infinite velocity". His test flight is a raging success, except for the part where he mutates and his body can no longer process oxygen or water, and his head expands to twice its normal size and various body parts fall off. The holographic Doctor races to find a cure, but not before Paris kidnaps Captain Janeway, subjects her to a warp 10 shuttle flight, and causes them both to mutate into... no, no, it's just too stupid. You'll never believe me if I just blurt it out like this. Read the whole recap, and just maybe you'll believe an ending this idiotic was actually scripted and filmed.

Re:Better than a refund, and maybe not planned
Don't forget Threshold either... Agony Booth did a very nice survey of the Braga evolution/de-evolution fixation a couple years ago.
And no, I'm not Brannon Braga.

Re:What's so bad about Uwe Boll?
> Having never seen a Uwe Boll movie, can someone tell me what's so bad about him?
Perhaps this review of his version of Alone in the Dark will be instructive (as well as entertaining). -
Re:Here is why this is a bad idea
Did someone say "cheesy horror film"?
Night of the Lepus http://imdb.com/title/tt0069005/ starring the late, great, DeForest Kelly.

Superman 3
They Are Missing Superman 3. The WORST Movie Ever! [FROM http://www.agonybooth.com/superman_3/default.asp?
P age=2%5D Several students at the "Archibald Data Processing School" have witnessed the mayhem from a window. Inside, we see a small chalkboard and students hard at work on several computer terminals, and Gus Gorman is among them. A female student whose face isn't shown asks the instructor a question, and her line is clumsily looped in. "Excuse me, but what if, uh, you want to program two bilateral coordinates at the same time?" The teacher calls this "impossible" but Gus nervously raises his hand. "Sir?" He shows the commands on his screen and types a few keys. Of course, this computer is one of the first personal models ever made and it's hard to be impressed by flashing green text. [Editor's Note: And as a programmer, I have to step in here and point out that Gus is programming in BASIC, and his entire program is nothing but PRINT statements. Actually, they're mostly empty PRINT statements, meaning Gus has just written a very complex program that will display... absolutely nothing. --Albert] Nevertheless, it does the trick for the teacher, who exclaims, "Good Lord, how did you do that?" A bewildered Gus says, "I don't know! I just did it!" That's How You Learn You Are A computer Genius! When You "Just do It!" -

Sorry, the body count after the filming of Manos: The Hands of Fate is highly exaggerated Obligatory Wikipedia article meant to be a cite. A more reliable article than Wikipedia.
