This was a good investment in the nineties
But today the market is not growing anymore. At least here in Denmark.
Around 1996/1997 it was possible to open a small café with some 16 seats and get an annual ROI of no less than 50%, but the market has stabilized now. We also have the problem here in Denmark, that the income tax is very high, so any café willing to break the law and employ black labour, can slash 25-30% off their prices and still make (steal) a profit.
The largest, local telephone company around here has started a concept called Boomtown, which is centered around huge (100+ seats) high tech gaming cafés. It seems to be a good business for them, but it has taken millions of dollars to get it up and running. They are planning to take the concept abroad.

Re:Text coverage of the conference
Many of us at work have port 8090 blocked
:-(
However, this works. -
Appalling Game: Try before you buy.
Woeful game: appalling voice acting, screen tearing, wandering frame rate, no cockpit view, idiotic missions (like flying randomly around in a low visibility sandstorm), infinite heath, offensive history, Starforce Virus.
But good looking cityscapes.
There are much better recent games in the genre (shame Zonk didn't review them), Heroes of the Pacific for arcade action, and Aces of Pacific if you want more sim. But dont take my word for it, here is a selection of other reviews:
IGN 68%: "Going down in a blaze of boring."http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/697/697947 p1.html [ign.com]
Xbox 360 Advanced 65%: "While Blazing Angels shows high production values, the single-player gameplay falls incredibly flat. "http://360.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=7140 [advancedmn.com]
Eurogames 50%: "With genuinely appalling voicework setting the tone for development incompetence, it's compounded by a few dreadful levels, camera issues and the feeling that the whole project was ported onto the 360 as an afterthought" http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=63 662 [eurogamer.net]
Boomtown 20%: "As it stands Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII is a deeply flawed game. From the terrible image tearing to the offensive voice-overs, it's as big a failure as I've seen from a major Publisher for some time." http://xbox.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.p hp?id=11039 [boomtown.net] -

Re:He's not pro! - Mod Parent Funny
You obviously aren't that into gaming then
;P Fatal1ty is a genuinely scary opponent, on his tours, you can usually challenge him to a 1-on-1 in some fast FPS, such as UT, Q3, Painkiller or the like. Lots of people do challenge him. I haven't heard of someone winning over him yet. A few ones actually frag (kill) him, but they're few ;)
He's been to Denmark, and played at the Boomtown cafe, where you could also challenge him, and win some stuff (his Abit motherboard etc). -
Re:as to what they found the easiest
One game I am buying as soon as it's released, is Far Cry, they're using CryTek's CryEngine, which also has a realtime in-game-editor.
If you haven't already tried far cry (single player demo), I suggest you read Boomtown's review, and download it - no time to waste! Hurry! :) -

Sooner than you seem to think......
Of course it won't actually be out for many many many moons
If by "many many moons" you mean before the end of the year. -
Europe is full of Baangs, tooFYI you will find a lot of these "uniquely Korean" game-cafés in Europe, too. I live in Denmark and LAN-parties here died out five years ago. Nowadays, people just go to a game-café and play on the latest hardware while being served cold drinks.
There's nothing "basement" about these places - some of them are in very fashionable locations.
To have a peek check out Boomtown in central Copenhagen, just across from Tivoli Gardens.

Re:Why stop there? It's been done. See Barrysworld or Jolt or Splatterworld or Boomtown, Danish telecom's gaming net.
All of these are ISPs, but specifically geared toward gaming -- that is, low ping, ample game servers, admins available to kick cheaters, etc. Most of them have a presence on QuakeNet, for those IRC-inclined.
Someday the States will have a gaming ISP as well.
