Re:it's kind of funny,
"Fake News" was first termed for fake reporting by a media damage control consultant hired by the Obama administration to assist Hillary in her election process in managing social media stories and rebuking bad optics
Ironically what you're doing there is called fake news. What you say is completely fabricated, made up, baloney, bullshit. You get the idea.
The interesting truth is that "Fake News" was originally coined in 2016 by Buzzfeed to describe a cluster of political websites masquerading as newspapers all registered out of the same Macedonian village. That's right, the original "fake news" was generated for and by Trump. These latest Republican fake newsites are just more of the same, and Republicans will keep on projecting, the modus operandi being "accuse others of being guilty of the crime I am committing", which you have more than adequately demonstrated.

Something not mentioned
Because the con artist shut down the government, or at least part of it, only essential personnel at NASA will be on duty when the flyby happens.
"During the Shutdown Furlough, you will be in a nonpay, nonduty status. During this time, you will not be permitted to serve NASA as an unpaid volunteer. You must remain away from your worksite, and may not work at home, in another location, or participate in events hosted by non-NASA entities in your official capacity like speeches or speakers bureau engagements, unless and until recalled."
This also affects another NASA flyby the same day:
The shutdown also means NASA has had to turn to another contractor lab, the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory at the University of Arizona in Tucson, to document when another space agency probe, OSIRIS-REx, goes into orbit around the asteroid Bennu, another milestone scheduled for New Year's Eve. NASA TV will similarly cover those announcements, according to Bridenstine.
Someone I know from another site has a niece whose husband works at NASA and is a big supporter of the con artist. He's taking a little bit of pleasure knowing the guy won't be around for the momentous occasion and won't get to see it until afterwards. Nor is he getting paid and won't get a pay raise next year.

Success by Merit in 1968
The national program to put an American on the moon significantly advanced the pure and applied sciences. The program was immensely successful because it was implemented during an era when merit was rewarded.
Nowadays, ethnic or racial ancestry is rewarded. Preferential treatment for Hispanics is the new reality.
Preferential treatment includes affirmative action (AA). It is gross discrimination against Americans of European or Asian ancestry.
Due to AA, an Asian (or European) must score roughly 300 points higher than a Hispanic, on the Scholastic Aptitude Test, in order for the admissions committee (of Princeton University) to give the Asian (or European) equal consideration with the Hispanic.
"'[Affirmative action] offends me,' [Yukong] Zhao continued, telling me he believes Chinese-Americans have faced far more discrimination than Latinos. 'Why [do] Hispanics
... get higher preference than Chinese-Americans, or Japanese-Americans?'" (Zhao was interviewed for a report published by BuzzFeed News.) -

American Disinformation vs. Russian Disinformation
The disinformation produced by Russians does not exceed the disinformation produced by Americans.
Consider the topic of preferential treatment for Hispanics.
Preferential treatment includes affirmative action (AA). It is gross discrimination against Americans of European or Asian ancestry.
The elites in the mainstream media claim that AA does not discriminate against Europeans and Asians. Yet, the statistical data clearly shows that, due to AA, an Asian (or European) must score roughly 300 points higher than a Hispanic, on the Scholastic Aptitude Test, in order for the admissions committee (of Princeton University) to give the Asian (or European) equal consideration with the Hispanic.
Most Americans of Asian ancestry are aware of this disinformation produced by the elites in the media. Most Americans of Asian ancestry condemn this disinformation.

Re: Globalist snake
If you are still maintaining that the video was not doctored then you are lying and trying to gaslight us. You are quite simply dishonest.
Thanks for demonstrating just how dishonest the media is. Either you were fooled by their phony narrative, or you are lying yourself. The video was not sped up. It was not doctored. Here's the lefty BuzzFeed:
"There's no evidence that the video was deliberately sped up -- but the change in format, from a high-quality video to a low-quality GIF, turns the question of whether it was "doctored" into a semantic debate."
"Watson, however, categorically denies doctoring the video. He told BuzzFeed News that the video was "not edited - it's just zoomed in." He also explained that he took the original footage directly from a GIF posted to the Twitter account of the website the Daily Wire.
"Fact is, Daily Wire put up a gif, I download a gif, zoomed in saved it again as an mt2 file - then converted it to an mp4," Watson said over direct message. "Digitally it's gonna look a tiny bit different after processing and zooming in, but I did not in any way deliberately 'speed up' or 'distort' the video. That's just horse shit.""
Acosta lied when he said he did not put his hands on the intern. Why isn't the media talking about that, instead of trying to reframe the narrative?
You lied when you said Acosta was banned for asking tough questions. He was banned for not giving up the mic and physically preventing a young, female intern from retrieving the mic.
Why don't you and the rest of the "reputable" media acknowledge that Acosta was out of line for refusing to allow the next reporter to ask questions, and acting like he has a right to ask as many questions as he wants?

BuzzFeed News Teaching Google About Online Fraud
You can't be 'Internet Awesome', Google tells children on their 'Certificates of Internet Awesomeness', unless 'You know how to tell the difference between the real and the fake.' By that standard, Google itself is not 'Internet Awesome.' From Tuesday's Google Online Security Blog post: "Last week, BuzzFeed News provided us with information that helped us identify new aspects of an ad fraud operation across apps and websites that were monetizing with numerous ad platforms, including Google. While our internal systems had previously caught and blocked violating websites from our ad network, in the past week we also removed apps involved in the ad fraud scheme so they can no longer monetize with Google. Further, we have blacklisted additional apps and websites that are outside of our ad network, to ensure that advertisers using Display & Video 360 (formerly known as DoubleClick Bid Manager) do not buy any of this traffic. We are continuing to monitor this operation and will continue to take action if we find any additional invalid traffic. While our analysis of the operation is ongoing, we estimate that the dollar value of impacted Google advertiser spend across the apps and websites involved in the operation is under $10 million."

It Spares Suffering Weathermen
Who hasn't seen the (usually live) video of long-suffering weathermen standing out there in a shiny wet rainjacket or suit, being blown away (and the godz alone know how the cameramen manage).
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/a...
"Twitter user @gourdnibler captured a Weather Channel reporter struggling to stand upright and seemingly holding onto dear life — until the camera pans out a bit and captures two people casually strolling in the background."

Re:Double Standard
He did, but not on Twitter. He called Unsworth a "child rapist" in an email. The worst he said on Twitter was "pedo guy".
So you're aware enough of the August 30, 2018 emails to discuss their content,,,
Also, for what it's worth, Musk later apologized.
But so temporally challenged that you think that a seven-week old apology is either later than the emails or somehow not revealed as utterly fake by those very same emails.
Sad.

Musk went nuts
Musk is now calling the hero cave explorer who helped rescue the Thai kids a "child rapist". https://www.buzzfeednews.com/a...

Re:Hmmm
> men are choosing to enjoy video games rather than go out in the world, get married, have children,
...Jordan Peterson calls (*) this behavior MGTOW Men Go Their Own Way.
It is not just him saying that.
There are certain men who refuse to work with women because anytime a woman claims she was harassed the man is automatically presumed guilty until proven innocent.
As I was told in no uncertain terms by the college sexual harassment counselor, "Anything a woman says is sexual harassment is by definition sexual harassment." This didn't keep me from working with women - oddly enough, the lady scientists and engineers I worked with were almost all friends. But I knew to keep my mouth shut until I knew I could trust them. side note: some of the worst victims of sexual based harassment are these professional ladies - it just comes from other women, so they tend to make work friendships with men.
Can you blame them that some men just go "Fuck it. I don't need this drama."
I don't blame them at all. That is a reasoned choice in a world where almost anything can be construed as harassment. It is simply not worth the risk. There is no reward, and the inherent risk in a minor disagreement is pretty impressive https://www.buzzfeednews.com/a... The woman and man who were fired might seem to indicate otherwise, but a fair segment of people are standing up for her misandry, although not much about the guy who was canned. So you have a case where the simple act of disagreement can get you canned or at least have to put up with stupid drama. So yeah - fuck it. It is one of those mysteries of modern life, where one slip or even bad interpretation of a statement can land you in hot water based on the sex of someone who reads it, yet if you practice the passive art of avoidance, that pisses them off too.
(*) For the record Jordan admits he was dismissive of calling MGOTW as "pathetic weasels." It takes a man with integrityto admit he was wrong. Good that he owned up to that epithet.
That statement/apology was one of the strangest acts of an interesting man's career. But I accept it. Which is in bright contrast to the normal trial by social media, where simple statements must be met by firing.
I would love to ask him what aspect of passive avoidance of a low reward, high risk situation caused him to make his initial statement.

Re:NOT hidden
The "hidden" cost they're talking about is NOT reflected in the price.
Anyone who's ever read Friedrich Hayek's "The Use of Knowledge in Society" should know: externalities apart, some way, somehow any extra environmental burden (read: resource usage) will be worked into the price...
To the GP's point, the article is about environmental externalities.

Um... by your own admission the indiegogo
was successful. The comic is widely available.
What you're referring to seems to stem from an article Buzz Feed ran here complaining that people who pushed for more diversity in comics were being trolled, harassed and threatened. Because everyone in the media likes to boil stuff down to a controversy they called the phenomenon "comicsgate".
Pushes for diversity in comics have been going on since the mid-90s boom times. You can't pin the drop in sales on that because it's a nearly 25 year old movement in the industry. The goal isn't to be "SJW" it's to expand readership beyond young teen boys. Girls in particular are a desirable target demographic because, well, they read a lot more than boys (seriously, look it up, or ask yourself what the biggest hit books are and take a look at how they appeal to girls).
The industry's flagging not because of diversity, it's flagging because the entire US economy's in the crapper for everyone but the top 10% or so and those people are busy enjoying their wealth instead of reading comics (the occasional Sultan in Dubai aside). The nerd economy in particular is hurting because of outsourcing and in-sourcing (e.g. H1-Bs). Comic book publishers have lost their last remaining base. They lost the kids to video games and now they've lost the nerds to, well, supply side economics.
TL;DR, it's the economy stoopid (TM)
