Some of the Bush and Cheney arrest records.
It seems that there is always some uninformed person who posts comments to stories like this who doesn't realize that both U.S. President George W. Bush and U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney were both active alcoholics. So, here are some of their arrest records:
Bush and Cheney are the most arrested U.S. president and vice-president in history. George W. Bush was arrested once for the crime of DUI and Dick Cheney twice:
George W. Bush DUI, 1st record of arrest
George W. Bush DUI, 2nd record of arrest
George W. Bush was arrested 2 other times in his life, also, for stunts that were not something a sober person would find interesting.
Dick Cheney DUI, record of 1st arrest
Dick Cheney DUI, record of 2nd arrest -

If you haven't read any books about U.S. politics, then you probably don't know much about the activities of the U.S. government.
You cannot rely for information on TV or newspapers, or any advertising-supported media. Advertising-supported media exists to make money, not to inform. Advertisers are understandably careful not to alienate anyone. It is not possible to develop an accurate opinion of government activities only by listening to the carefully crafted phrases from media employees who would lose their jobs if they seemed to indicate a preference for one candidate over another.
It's a fact that Bush supporters often have a poor understanding of his actions rather than what he wants people to believe. One example of support for this is the following article: Bush Supporters Misread Many of His Foreign Policy Positions.
The U.S. government is corrupted by extreme conflict of interest. Please don't moderate this down just because you disagree. I can support my position with links to 3 movies and 35 books: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government.
For a quicker overview, see this article: 100 Facts and 1 Opinion -- The Non-Arguable Case Against the Bush Administration.
The county-by-county results showing not only who won, but the number, are extremely interesting. So is the USA Today result map. They show what might be expected. Those who live in rural counties vote for Bush. In the past century, the more intelligent, educated, and ambitious people have migrated away from the farms to places with more opportunities. The less educated have stayed behind. Those who live in rural counties are less likely to read, and therefore are not well-informed.
Those who don't read are fooled by Karl Rove's lies. Here are books about Karl Rove's methods:
Boy Genius: Karl Rove, The brains behind the remarkable political triumph of George W. Bush by Lou Dubose, Jan Reid, and Carl M. Cannon, 2003, PublicAffairs. Reviews: Powell's Barnes & Noble Amazon
Part of the secret of Karl Rove's success is that U.S. voters don't want to believe there is widespread corruption in their government. Lies that are extreme and unrelenting enough are accepted.
President George W. Bush has a habit of giving disrespectful nicknames to those with whom he works. "Boy Genius" is one of Mr. Bush's nicknames for Karl Rove. Mr. Bush also calls Karl Rove, "Turd Blossom". The term refers to a flower that grows in the feces of a cow.
Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove made George W. Bush presidential by James Moore and Wayne Slater, 2003, John Wiley & Sons, New York, New York, USA. Reviews: Powell's Barnes & Noble Amazon
One of the Amazon reviews quotes the book: "Karl Rove matters to all Americans, many who have never even heard his name. While the president chafes at the description of Rove as 'Bush's Brain,' he can hardly deny that every policy -
They think he's Christian!
On topic: Having an AOL account means that you don't know anyone who understands computers. As the number of people who know a little expands, AOL will eventually dry up and disappear. I think it's obvious Steve Case knew that, and that's why he wanted Time Warner's involvement, and engineered the "merger" at the top of the bubble.
Responding to your sig: They think the violent, chronic liar is Christian! But he's an alcoholic. Alcoholics often have both a very engaging side and a violent side. Usually they try to hide the violent side. Most people can't tell he's lying!
There's a similarity between being a supporter of George W. Bush and being an AOL account holder. Both show ignorance, only that. AOL is not, in fact, giving its subscribers anything they should want, and Bush is not, in fact, giving the "Christians" anything they should want. And, anyone who is so easily led to violence is definitely not a Christian.
As the U.S. has grown, the intelligent, ambitious people have left the rural areas and gone to places that offer more opportunity. That's why the blue states are in the areas of opportunity and the red states are in the middle. Probably AOL users have a similar demographic. -

Bush's education improvements were at least partly fraud.
I recommend a new book, The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty. Don't expect any author to be perfect. However, this book is an excellent overview of the Bush family, and the best book by this author. Here is a quote which shows just one more fact about the chronic lying of George Herbert Walker Bush and his son George W. Bush: "The official family tree provided by the Bush archivists does not include the two mentally retarded daughters of John M. Walker, and lists only two of James Smith Bush's wives, not all four of them; one of Ray Walker's two wives is omitted, and George Herbert Walker III is listed with only two, instead of three, wives."

Did you see the network footage of George W. Bush holding hands with a Saudi man the Bush family knows as "Bandar Bush"? Since it was Saudis who attacked on 9/11, why did Bush invade Iraq? Was it a smokescreen to get attention away from the Saudis?

Bush is the most disliked US president in history.
They are not just painting political graffiti with light. They are against Bush.
It's unprecedented: There are 44 well-funded groups against Bush. There are more than 3 movies and more than 35 books about Bush Administration corruption.
Magazines like The Nation are against Bush: 100 Facts and 1 Opinion -- The Non-Arguable Case Against the Bush Administration
There are hundreds of web sites like Dubya Speak, that talk about some negative aspect of Bush's personality. Dubya Speak quotes Bush: "It's only fair if other countries treat us the way they treat them." If he meant, "It's only fair if other countries treat us the way we treat them", that is something important about which George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden agree.
Foreign leaders and politicians call Bush a "moron" and an "idiot".
George W. Bush is certainly the most disliked U.S. president in history.
If I remember correctly, there were, in the early years, four major books published about Clinton. They said Cliton was having sex with slutty women. They tried to find something wrong with his small losing investment called Whitewater. They said he may have, at some time during his being governor of Arkansas, associated with people who later turned out to be involved in questionable activities. Someone in his adminstration committed suicide. The books were interesting, but a little lame.
The books about Bush are different. The books about Bush are about major governmental corruption.

If you kill them, they will try to kill you.
You should take bin Laden's statements with the greatest seriousness. In fact, the U.S. government has effectively declared war on Arabs and Muslims. Here is just one example: New York Governor Pataki's statements are equivalent to a declaration of war.
To get votes from Jews in the United States, U.S. politicians go into the Jewish community and declare their "support for Israel". That's code for support for Israeli violence. Many politicians don't care about the morality of their actions. They don't care whether U.S. government support for Israeli violence is actually good for Jews. They just want the vote.
Non-Jewish United States citizens never hear about this support for foreign wars. It isn't a secret; it's on Pataki's web site. But it is effectively a secret, because no one tells U.S. citizens that they are engaging in a war that will definitely cause them to be attacked.
There is a one-sentence record in ancient Jewish texts, that are now part of the Christian Bible, that a Pharoah of Egypt had some complaint against the Jews about 3,200 years ago. Since then, at least every 200 years, the Jews have annoyed the surrounding cultures enough that they have been the targets of extreme violence. Certainly this is regrettable. Certainly something should be done about this. However, there is no evidence that anyone presently in power in the U.S. government has a sophisticated understanding of the problems, or any sensible ideas about how a nation thousands of miles from Israel could be helpful. In fact, it seems that U.S. government support for Jewish violence is like pouring "gasoline on a fire", as one Jewish leader said.
The U.S. government, at present, fully supports the use of violence to achieve its goals. Under George W. Bush, the U.S. government believes that it is okay to kill people and destroy their property even when the U.S. is not directly or immediately threatened.
Most U.S. citizens do not make the connection that a policy of violence supported by the U.S. government means that they will inevitably be attacked.
Quoting from the CNN article, here are some of Osama bin Laden's words: "And as I was looking at those towers that were destroyed in Lebanon [with U.S. government help], it occurred to me that we have to punish the transgressor with the same" he says, "and that we had to destroy the towers in America, so that they taste what we tasted and they stop killing our women and children."
If you live in Kalispell, Montana, USA, to pick a place at random, it is unlikely that you will be directly attacked by Arab terrorists. However, attacks on the U.S. affect you profoundly because they lower your quality of life, just as the U.S. attacks on Iraq lowered the quality of life there. -
Vint Cerf says he did.
I can't find the email message now because I'm supposed to be working, but Vint Cerf told me that, before Al Gore, the ARPANET was a private utility. Al Gore decided it should be a public service, and provided considerable support from the U.S. Congress to turn the ARPANET into the Internet.
Many people did the work. Many people should have some of the credit. But, according to Vint Cerf, Al Gore was the first public official to decide that there should be a public utility called the Internet.
It shocks me how little people know about the activities of their government. It shocks me that, after all this time, people are still believing the disinformation written by Republican marketing writers.
Don't believe the sound bites, read books. No one who read the more than 35 books about the Bush administration would vote for George W. Bush, that is clear.
Even those who read magazines would know more than most U.S. citizens. For example:
100 Facts and 1 Opinion -- The Non-Arguable Case Against the Bush Administration. -
The words "liberal" & "conservative" are epith
Anyone who uses the words "liberal" and "conservative" shows that he or she is not thinking deeply. Those words are used in so many ways that they have lost their meaning, except as epithets.
Programmers and those who administer complicated computer systems must be logical. If they aren't, they cannot write a working program or troubleshoot problems. If logical people read enough books and gather enough facts, they must come to the conclusion that Bush should not be re-elected.
I could give hundreds of pages of support for this view. For 100 facts, see this well-documented article from The Nation magazine:

Bush Relatives,
The three movies and 35 recently published books reviewed in the article linked below describe U.S. government corruption:
Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government
There were several books published before and during the Clinton administration about former U.S. President Bill Clinton. However, the situation with Clinton and previous presidents was not even remotely comparable. There are many more books discussing the Bush administration, and the negative issues are far, far more serious.
Also see this well-documented article from The Nation magazine:

P.S.: I learned about your site from a front-page story on Slashdot.org.
_______
In past elections, there has been a reason to vote for the other side. I didn't choose Bob Dole, but if he had been elected, the nation would have been okay, because Bob Dole is a decent man.
This election is different. It is not a matter of preference. The Bush Administration is extremely corrupt. Those who vote for Bush are not well-informed.
An old DEC manual for technical writers said that only 2% of Americans read non-fiction books not connected with work. That seems correct to me. I have found that even Slashdot readers, who are more intelligent than most people, have little knowledge of the activities of their government. Instead, some of them have picked up and believe Bush campaign lies like "Bush is Christian" and "Bush will protect us in the war against terrorism". -
U.S. government involvement does not help.
Whatever the problems in Israel, U.S. government involvement does not help, but makes things much, much worse.
U.S. government leaders have very unsophisticated understandings of other cultures. Here's an example of someone with a simplistic understanding: Senator Biden says the Saudi government cannot continue in power without U.S. government support.
--
Government data compares Democrat and Republican economics. -
It's 11:12 PM. Do you know what your gov is doing?
The Slashdot story shows a lack of appreciation of the reality. Those who presently control the U.S. government think that it doesn't matter if the weapons work. In fact, it is more profitable for them if they don't. The weapons makers and those who profit from government oil contracts want all war, all the time.
--
Government data compares Democrat and Republican economics. -
Those who support Bush are not book readers.
Those who support George W. Bush probably are not book readers. They cannot have seen these 3 movies and read these 35 books: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government.
Thinking about the presidential campaign has caused me to discover something I didn't know before. Most people have little idea of the activities of their government. Instead, they believe the sound bites.
--
Government data compares Democrat and Republican economics. -
Violence breeds violence.
"Only these parties were to blame."
After the U.S. government bombing and the U.S. government support for violent regimes destabilized the country, other forces began to be violent. The record seems to indicate that the U.S. government activities were a strong contributory factor.
That's how it works. Violence breeds violence. It seems likely that the Bush war in Iraq will destabilize the region for decades.

Few Bush signs in Portland. Read the books.
In Portland, Oregon, a friend mentioned that, before the last election, there were no signs in the yards in the wealthy area where he lives. Now there are seven Kerry/Edwards signs in the yards around his. There are no Bush signs.
I began looking for Bush signs as I drive around my area. I've seen none. There is at least one Kerry sign on each block, usually more.
I've heard that there are plenty of Bush signs in the rural areas of the state.
Many people in the U.S. know very, very little about the activities in their government. There are many very angry people. The ignorant and the angry are easily manipulated. To them, for example, bombing for democracy makes sense.
During the Clinton years, I read the books that were published about him. They said he was having sex with slutty women. They tried to find something wrong with his small losing investment called Whitewater. They said he may have, at some time during his being governor of Arkansas, associated with people who later turned out to be involved in questionable activities. I found the books interesting, but a little lame.
Now I've read the books about Bush. It's amazing. The information about Bush is about severe corruption of government.
The negative information about George W. Bush seems endless. Just when I think I know 10% of the corruption, I find more detail that shows I know less than 1% of it. For example, George W. Bush's brother was shown in a lawsuit deposition on 20/20 casually talking about his prostitutes and his use of government influence to make money. This is Neil Bush talking about himself.
George H.W. Bush was involved in the weapons business with a brother of Osama bin Laden. See House of Bush, House of Saud: The secret relationship between the world's two most powerful dynasties by Craig Unger, 2004, Scribner, New York, New York, USA. Reviews: Powell's Barnes & Noble Amazon
Most media exists to make money. Advertisers are understandably careful not to alienate anyone. It is not possible to develop an accurate opinion of government activities only by listening to the carefully crafted phrases from media employees who would lose their jobs if they seemed to indicate a preference for one policy over another. It's necessary to read books.
George Soros says, "President Bush is endangering our safety, hurting our vital interests, and undermining American values." If Dole had been elected instead of Clinton, the U.S. would have had sensible leadership. This election is different. It is not a matter of which candidate you like. If you vote for Bush, you are poorly informed. This is not a claim that Kerry and Edwards are perfect. They represent, at minimum, a needed change.

sig: "Every nation that seeks peace has an obligation to help build [a freer] world." - GW Bush
Your forgot the other sentence: "You are either with us or against us." Which means, in this case: "We will bomb you if you are against us." Typical polarized alcoholic thinking.
Does killing Iraqis set them free? Or does it de-stabilize the country and invite hundreds of thousands of supporters for terrorists? The U.S. government did the same thing to Cambodia, and the country stayed destabilized for decades. Millions of people died after the U.S. government stopped bombing. There is plenty of evidence that this will happen in Iraq. -

It's a big challenge designing a better moderation system. Maybe everyone should be allowed to moderate every comment, all the time.

Alternative spam solution: Change the culture.
Here's another spam solution:
If we had a respected national leader who could often talk to millions of people, that person could change the culture. The leader could tell everyone never to buy anything or even respond to unsolicited email advertising.
It might take years, but eventually it would not be economic for spammers to operate, particularly since spam filters would continue to improve.
The only person who could do this in the U.S. now would be Oprah Winfrey. She has an enormous following, and has a reputation for positive thinking (and, unfortunately, sometimes being ignorantly anti-male). She could tell her women viewers, and ask them to tell everyone in their family.
If we had a positively-minded president, he or she would be in an excellent position to change the email culture. A president could change the culture in a few months, possibly. It would simply become socially unacceptable to respond to unsolicited email.
Unfortunately, we don't have such a president. For example, see this article: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government.
If the spam culture change worked, the next thing I would like to see is an open source reference browser that set standards for how browsers should work. Unforunately, Bill Gates is not a positive leader, either. I would like to see Mozilla become the U.S. national government standard. Anyone could continue to use any browser they wanted, but the government's power could be put behind web page rendering standards and browser quality.

Government data shows Democrat and Republican spending patterns. -
Government data shows Republicans are corrupt.
Responding to your sig: The worst Democrat is better at jobs and growth than the best Republican.
Here's another possible sig: Government data shows Republicans are corrupt.
I've done some research and provided links to reviews of 3 movies and 35 books saying that the Bush administration is corrupt: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government.
On Monday on the Charlie Rose show, author Graydon Carter was talking about his book, What We've Lost. He said something like, "I thought I knew a tenth of extent of the corruption of the Bush administration, but I found that I knew a thousandth." That's my experience, too. I believe that I have a reasonable overview of the corruption, and I discover a new pocket of detail that shows that it is much worse than I thought.
The most shocking thing I've learned in trying to tell people about my research is that perhaps one U.S. citizen in twenty has any idea of the extent of the corruption. -
Driver's licenses are already a national ID card.
From the story: "How is this functionally different from a national ID card?"
It isn't different. The driver's license name is the kind of lying with which many things are sold to U.S. citizens. Other examples are: 1) The "Patriot" Missile, as though you are not patriotic unless you are in favor of a particular weapon of mass destruction. 2) The "Patriot" Act, as though you are not patriotic unless you are in favor of laws that most congress people passed without reading. And, 3) The "Peacekeeper" Missile, which tries to give people the idea that a nuclear weapon keeps the peace.
This kind of lying takes advantage of the fact that most U.S. citizens have to trust their government because they simply don't have time to understand what their government is doing.
Most media exists to make money. Advertisers are understandably careful not to alienate anyone. It is not possible to develop an accurate opinion of government activities only by listening to the carefully crafted phrases from media employees who would lose their jobs if they seemed to indicate a preference for one policy over another.
Books are the major media that are not ad-supported. Have a quick look at the reviews of 3 movies and 35 books that try to tell you a little about U.S. goverment corruption: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government. If you don't read about the subjects mentioned, you are not informed. If you don't like the books listed, pick your own.
Even though most people simply don't have time to understand their government, it is still amazing how much distrust U.S. citizens have of their government, and yet they don't take control.
There is good reason not to trust a more efficient national driver's license, because it would be used by the government to suppress political dissent. For example, see the New York Times article, F.B.I. Scrutinizes Antiwar Rallies. Here's a quote: "Critics of the Bush administration's Iraq policy, for instance, have sued the government to learn how their names ended up on a "no fly" list used to stop suspected terrorists from boarding planes." There are many people whose jobs depend on their ability to fly. They may be forced to stop any analysis of government activity if they are harassed when they try to fly.
That article discusses a few of the other abuses. If you didn't like the Vietnam War, and demonstrated against it, the FBI would go to your neighbors and friends and "investigate" you. Merely the investigation caused enough fear to discourage most people; they could not afford to lose friends and the support of neighbors. People would think, "If someone is being investigated, that person must have done something wrong."
(Note that you can read that article at the New York Times web site, but only under extremely adversarial conditions. You can pay more than the entire cost of the newspaper in which the article was originally printed. Or, you can get a discount under plans which cause you to lose your money in a short time if you don't use the plans quickly enough. No one should underestimate the self-destructive rapacity of managers of ad-supported media.)
Driver's licenses are already a national ID card. The U.S. government is only trying to make the data gathering more efficient. The fundamental problem is not whether or not a national ID card is a good idea, the problem is that, although the U.S. government functions well in many ways, the government is corrupt in many other ways.
If you truly love your country, you will not just enjoy the advantages, you will be there for your country when there are problems. -

Criticize George W. Bush? That's easy. Check this out: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government
Or this:
U.S. Government: Borrowing money to kill Iraqis. 140 billion borrowed. With interest, you pay 200 billion.
Or this:
15 of the 19 9/11 attackers were Saudis. Many don't like the U.S. Gov. influence on their country.
Did you see the network footage of George W. Bush holding hands with a Saudi man the Bush family knows as "Bandar Bush"? Since it was Saudis who attacked on 9/11, why did Bush invade Iraq? Was it a smokescreen to get attention away from the Saudis? -
Many people just don't want to know...
Many people just don't want to know how corrupt the U.S. government is, and they find any small reason to avoid to deny the overall picture, while still pretending to be logical.
There is no way to argue away all the material in 35 books and 5 movies! There are NOT an equal number of books arguing the opposite side. The books in the article Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government are from respected publishers. The pro-Bush books are, generally, not.
You said, "It is rather common in Arabic culture for men to hold hands..." That's exactly right. But George W. Bush had never left the U.S. when he began running for president. Why is HE holding hands? The answer is that he has what the Bush family thinks is a close relationship with Prince "Bandar Bush". Anyone who knows the Saudi culture knows that it is highly unlikely Prince Bandar likes the Bush family. He is only using his relationship with the Bush family for his own benefit.
FactCheck.org is NOT a reputable organization. They check "facts" only one level deep. The real facts are that Cheney arranged to have no-bid contracts made legal during the time he was Secretary of Defense. He knew that the U.S. would attack Iraq, so Halliburton could be prepared in advance. That's why only Halliburton had the resources for the Iraq contract. -
Re:Other political information movies:
I agree that Michael Moore sometimes has an objectionable way of presenting material. But, as you are doing, many people talk about Michael Moore instead of talking about the huge amount of corruption he tries to document.
There is a huge, huge amount of material. Here are reviews of 35 books that say the same thing as Michael Moore. You can have the same message presented in a learned way, or a funny way, or a typically Republican way, or a journalistic way: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government
Here is just a little hint of the corruption: Bush borrows money to kill Iraqis. 140 billion borrowed. With interest, you pay 200 billion. When Saudis attack, invade Iraq?
Here's another hint: George W. Bush's brother was shown in a lawsuit deposition on 20/20 talking about his prostitutes and using government influence to make money. Family values?
Here's another hint: The U.S. government has engaged in 24 wars since WW2: The system of violence works by creating fear so rich people can profit.
Here's another hint: Did you see the network footage of George W. Bush holding hands with a Saudi man the Bush family knows as "Bandar Bush"? Since it was Saudis who attacked on 9/11, why did Bush invade Iraq. Was it partly a smokescreen to get attention away from the Saudis? -
Quotes from various places in the article:
Quotes from various places in the article:
"The publishers of The Iconoclast endorsed Bush four years ago, based on the things he promised, not on this smoke-screened agenda."
"He let us down."
"He merely told us to shop, spend, and pretend nothing was wrong."
"Again, he let us down."
"Job training has been cut every year that Bush has resided at the White House."
People in Crawford are in a position to know George W. Bush a little better than most citizens. It seems that the newspaper is merely saying openly what a lot of people in that town think.
Also, Bush's alcoholism is a matter of importance. For example, look at this: Is Bush drinking NOW?. For a more in-depth analysis, see this: The psychological effects of alcoholism provide a framework for understanding the Bush administration. Remember, Bush quit the Air National Guard the same month the ANG instituted drug testing. Did he fall off the wagon again?

Bush's alcoholism is a matter of great importance.
Bush's alcoholism is a matter of the most extreme importance. For example, look at this: Is Bush drinking NOW?. For a more in-depth analysis, see this: The psychological effects of alcoholism provide a framework for understanding the Bush administration. Remember, Bush quit the Air National Guard the same month the ANG instituted drug testing.
You said, "If Col. Killian routinely had his secretary type documents of this type (and she said that he did), then why is it plausible that they were sent off to be typeset, when she herself stated that they reflected things she herself had typed."
If you were in the USAF at the time, it is plausible. Remember, these are people who have agreed to kill anyone, anytime, simply on the order of their government. Also, people in leadership positions were less educated then. And, the alcoholics were in the majority. They didn't want anyone opposing them, since their job depended on no one fully realizing the truth. The official rules were that they would be fired if discovered. Many of them had very little employability outside the Guard or regular Air Force. Being discovered was equivalent to losing job, family, and being on the street.
For that reason, you didn't want anyone to see memos that you wrote that opposed this behavior. Yet you needed the memos in case there was a big investigation. It was very capricious.
It's plausible that Lt. Colonel Killian was especially concerned on a weekend, or during a time when his secretary was on vacation, and took his handwritten notes to a typesetter in Houston, and asked that they be typed. Someone typeset them instead. As I said, that happened to me. Then, when the secretary returned, he handed his notes to her to type and translate into the strict military language of the time.
There was a lot of insistence on petty things, and not much attention was given to important things. For example, the model of aircraft after the one that Bush flew, the F-106 Delta Dagger (he flew the Delta Dart), had a VERY, VERY high failure rate. Some of the failures were due to parasitic oscillations in amplifiers with faulty solder joints. Everyone pretended that the F-106 was operational. However, if you used a few wrong words in a memo, someone would make a hassle over it.
I'm not the only person who thinks the documents look real. For example, see I'm an Expert, and I Say They're Not Forged. When you struggled with the old typesetting machines as much as I did, it is easy to find it laughable that someone would know enough to try to impress you by copying all the quirks.

Just read the linked story.
I get responses like yours a lot. It is extremely frightening. You don't know anything about Neil Bush, apparently, and you didn't even bother to read the linked ABC 20/20 News story. If you had done only that, you would have realized that Neil Bush is heavily involved with the corruption of the Bush family. Like the others, he sells government influence to get money. They are doing it together, and they are doing it extremely extensively.
"Neilsie" has certainly not been repudiated by his family. When Billy Carter took a loan that showed conflict of interest, president Jimmy Carter publicly said no one should give his brother money. "Neilsie" is Barbara Bush's name for Neil.
Check the 20/20 link for Neilsie's himself talking about his casual involvement with prostitution. The Bush family could not get elected to anything if people really understood that their "Christian family values" are a lie. For another example, see this quote from The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty:
"The official family tree provided by the Bush archivists does not include the two mentally retarded daughters of John M. Walker, and lists only two of James Smith Bush's wives, not all four of them; one of Ray Walker's two wives is omitted, and George Herbert Walker III is listed with only two, instead of three, wives."

Bush: Borrowing money to try to make his administration look good. -
Read the reviews of 3 movies and 35 books yourself
"... there are people in this world that request that the information they receive about important people and issues be based on something other than hearsay."
"Hearsay" is not someone saying "I saw this myself". Hearsay is someone saying, "I heard this, but wasn't there myself." For example, Sharon Bush said she herself saw George W. Bush using cocaine at Camp David. It's plausible; alcoholics use cocaine to lessen the negative effects of drunkenness. George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush both have said publicly that he was a problem drinker, which is a polite phrase for alcoholic.
You cannot develop an accurate opinion by listening to the carefully crafted phrases from media employees who would lose their jobs if they seemed to indicate a preference for one candidate over another. Remember, the media exists to make money. Unfortunately, we don't have directly supported media, only ad supported media, and advertisers, understandably, are careful not to alienate anyone.
Read the reviews of 3 movies and 35 books yourself: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government. Then read the books themselves. If you didn't read any of the books, you probably don't suspect the strength of the evidence.
The Bush administration is the most secretive in the history of the United States. There is an entire book written by a Rebublican that talks about the secrecy: Worse Than Watergate: The Secret Presidency of George W. Bush. There are many situations in which there is information about obvious corruption that will probably never be fully understood because the secrecy is legal, especially after the Bush administration wrote new secrecy laws.
For example, video of George W. Bush's brother was shown on 20/20 last Friday night talking about his prostitutes and situations that obviously involve conflict of interest and misuse of government influence.
"Neil-sie", as their mother Barbara Bush calls him, is fully supported by her. He divorced his wife of 23 years and married a volunteer in Barbara Bush's office.
Read the transcript. What will you do when you hear of literally hundreds of situations like those in which the Bush family is able to hide the full truth, but something inappropriate and probably dishonest obviously happened?
This is an administration that cannot be re-elected, literally cannot be re-elected, unless a large number of people are convinced of the Bush family's Christian and moral and family values. Kerry will win if the voters know the truth. George W. Bush would never have been elected to anything if the voters had known the truth.

If you have a link, I would like to see it.
I've read the analyses. Every time there was a new fact, the "experts" retreated from something they said before. The last issue was the signatures. First, they could not have been signed by the Lt. Colonel. Next, they were photocopies of the Colonel's signature. Even if the signatures were forged, that was entirely in concert with things that happened at the time. The USAF at that time was very, very, very corrupt, as in pretending that major, repetitive aircraft failures did not exist. A clerk photocopying signatures would not have been a big event. It really helps if you were there, and I was.
It's fine with me if the documents are proved forgeries. However, I haven't seen that yet. If you have a link, I would like to see it. I would like to meet the forger, too, who made documents that look genuine to me and fake to almost everyone else. It was a lot of work to impress me, just one guy, a guy that the forger could easily guess might not exist.
Back then we really struggled with the shortcomings of the typesetting equipment we had. The cheaper equipment needed constant maintenance. The documents look like they were done on a machine that needed maintenance. That was a big joke back then, because it meant that the machine was either stolen, or someone got the machine and didn't want to spend the money to maintain it. Usually someone who did not want to spend the money was someone who was an enthusiast like me. Usually they got the machine on loan from someone who had a lot of money and not much understanding of how difficult the machines were to operate, and was embarrassed at wasting so much money, and wanted the machine out of sight. It was something we kidded about.
The big issue is that George W. Bush acts and thinks like an alcoholic. Alcoholics are usually angry people who act out their anger in a destructive way. 13,000 innocent Iraqis and their families have suffered, and tens of thousands of others. Before, Saddam Hussein was killing Iraqis, and the Iraq government was somewhat stable. Now the U.S. government is killing Iraqis, and the Iraq government is less stable, and you pay. Is that, in your judgement, an improvement?
Some people say it will be at least 50 years until the U.S. government can build a good reputation again. All because of one highly conflicted man who is in power because he sells the U.S. government to the highest bidder.
Proving whether George W. Bush dropped out of the Air National Guard because he could not pass the drug tests begun in the Guard on the month he dropped out is not necessary. The Bush administration has carried conflict of interest in U.S. government to a new level. They have also carried deniability to a new level. Three movies and 35 books tell a little of the story: Unprecedented Corruption: A guide to conflict of interest in the U.S. government. Some of those books were written by Republicans. Some of the books were written by former members of the Bush administration. There is an overwhelming amount of material; however, because of the carefully maintained deniability, in many cases we may never know exactly what happened. If you didn't read the books, you have no way of knowing how bad the corruption is.
You cannot develop an accurate opinion by listening to the carefully crafted phrases from media employees who would lose their jobs if they seemed to indicate a preference for one candidate over another. One matter that needs to be corrected in my comment above: Preston Bush, George W. Bush's grandfather, was a man with genuine political ability. Yes, he was an alcoholic who was threatening toward his children, but he also often served well in the Senate.
I recommend a new book, The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty. Don't expect any author to be perfect. However, this book is an excellent overview of the Bush family. Here is a quote which supports my statement about the chronic lying of George Herbert Walker Bush and his son George W. Bush:
"The official family tree provided by the Bush archivists does not include the two mentally retarded daughters of John M. Walker, and lists only two of James Smith Bush's wives, not all four of them; one of Ray Walker's two wives is omitted, and George Herbert Walker III is listed with only two, instead of three, wives."

They don't want to know the gov. is corrupt.
See this book on page 405 for the beginning of a description of the conflicts of interest and government corruption of Jeb Bush, governor of Florida: The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty.
For the corruption caused by the Bush family in general, see the many descriptions starting on page 397 and continuing throughout chapter 20 to page 428. "A glimpse into the business dealings of the Bush family shows that they acquired their wealth through the intermingling of public policy and private interests." This is Ms. Kelley's overly polite way of saying the Bush family sells the U.S. government to whoever will pay the most.
It's crazy to say the honest President Carter is partisan. It's really, really crazy to defend Jeb Bush.
I knew already, from reading about it for many years, that the Bush family was heavily involved with the Saudi Arabians most disliked by Osama bin Laden. Osama bin Laden says the Bush family's (now former) business associates are preventing needed changes in Saudi Arabia. I knew George W. Bush's father attended a meeting with a brother of Osama bin Laden on the day before 9/11. I don't accept Osama bin Laden's violence; I think his ideas for the future of Saudi Arabia are not sensible and not achievable. However, his ideas and the ideas of many Arabs that the U.S. government is supporting corruption in Saudi Arabia seem correct. This corruption has been encouraged by George W. Bush's father.
What I didn't remember was that Neil Bush was involved in business with Scott Hinckley, the brother of John Hinckley, Jr., who almost killed President Reagan. Had Reagan died, George H.W. Bush would have become president. Scott Hinckley had "given a lot of money to the Bush family". (See page 384.)
Also, I didn't realize that the Air National Guard began drug testing for cocaine on the same month that George W. Bush dropped out of the Guard. (Page 301.) Alcoholics use cocaine because it helps them drink more, I'm told by an alcoholic friend.
Aside the from the known corruption, there are literally hundreds of coincidences and associations like this where there was a Bush family involvement, and then something bad happened to the United States. For other short descriptions of the widespread corruption, see the reviews of 3 movies and 35 other books that say the same things as the book linked above.
Many Americans, like the person who posted the parent comment, have a hard time accepting that their government has become, in some ways, corrupt. There is so much corruption that one Slashdot comment cannot even begin to describe it.
Bush and Cheney are the most arrested U.S. president and vice-president in history. George W. Bush was arrested once for the crime of DUI and Dick Cheney twice:
George W. Bush DUI, 1st record of arrest
George W. Bush DUI, 2nd record of arrest
George W. Bush was arrested 2 other times in his life, also.
Dick Cheney DUI, record of 1st arrest
Dick Cheney DUI, record of 2nd arrest
The corruption is exactly what you would expect with dry drunks in charge. (It is more polite to call them "non-drinking alcholics".)
Other Bush family members have been arrested also. How does your family compare to the Bush family?

Bush: Borrowing money to try to make his administration look good. -
They don't want to know the gov.
