Re:Lets hope they include a game with this.
from gamespot UK:
This is a game that manages to involve you on every level,
and even in the world of role-playing games,
it has a rare amount of depth.
If all the quests were the same, it hardly has depth. There's the main storyline, then 13 houses/guilds you can join with quests, and many others. You're wrong, of course. -
Technology increase
The Venn diagrams of the article remind me of the pretty pictures I see whenever I get a new technology in Alpha Centauri or Civilization. How long do I have to wait for Matter Transmission?

Re:Bunch of 'ol fogies at Nintendo
This is what I was thinking. I couldn't tell if Metroid is 100% 3D, but the other two are.
Metroid Prime for the GameCube is 3D.
Are we doomed to never having 2D games again?
No. Metroid Fusion for the Gameboy Advance is 2D. The Gameboy Advance is where it's at for 2D games currently.
Shigeru Miyamoto has an intresting response when asked about 2D vs 3D in this interview at GameSpot UK. -
Re:Greetings from BioWare
Every time a new game comes out, someone actually reads the EULA and the spectres of corporate exploitation rears its head. Its just not happening. id, Blizzard, Valve, none of these companies have ripped off their fans. Why? Because its suicide.
I don't believe Bioware will do this, but it's not like it hasn't happened before with a larger company: D!Zone Gold, D!Zone 2, or Duke!Zone
I'm fairly certain that Wizard Works did not ask the authors of those maps and mods to include their work on those CDs (not that they had to). -

Re:SimVapor
Simsville was canceled en september by Maxis.
I was one of the people almost waiting in line to buy it but, IIRC, the game was much to big and things just didn't fit together the way they were supposed to so Matt Wright did the right thing and didn't release another game fiasco (`a la Daikatana). -
Re:Wow... looky here.
The software is a bit different too... enumeration is simpler or something. It won't support standard USB devices without writing a lot of extra code. (see here, search for "usb-like")

I think their list was a bit broad
I think when generating this list Gamespot was trying to be nice to everyone. There are quite a few people on here who i would not consider Godfathers. For instance the dude who made Croc, is not worthy of the title godfather. His games were not entertaining nor technologically ground breaking. I'm not sure in what order the list was generated, but Shigeru Miyamoto should definetly be first. i guess overall it is a cool list, but they really need to narrow it down ot like 5 people.

Re:Amazing Coincidence
it was ironic that it was a car crash. Didn't he have some sort of air bag, or other nifty gadget?
:)According to what he repeated many times in several interviews, he didn't really like any technical gadgets at all in the real life (tm). In his experience, all gadgets almost magically ceased to work at his presence.
So if we suppose that the airbag in his car didn't function correctly, this malfunction hardly came as a surprise to him!
