Well my take on the schpiel is that ex MTV loser Adam Curry needed to reinvent himself and coined the term to describe a pre-recorded session which is then linked to an rss feed and made availabel for people to download to their ipods and listen to whilst not doing something worthwhile.

It's a fad worse than bloggin and there have been rumours about a blogtroll getting into podcasting too...
