In other news, being a professional basketball player makes you more likely to be physically fit that a person who is only a moderate basketball player.

Must be read
Every day it is becoming more and more apparent that the Android was built using "hot" parts. The "criminals" in this instance, the ones trying to intervene, are going to be made to pay.

Selection bias
Selection bias. This is what happens when you let humanities people pretend to do science.

Great way to move
So all that hidden geometry is there to make sure anyone with anything less than a top-end GPU basically chokes to death rendering unseen details. Great way to move those premium class GPUs!

Re:Only as "free" as your ability to defend it
Based on the comments here, it is pretty clear most people on Yahoo don't have a clue what libertarianism is.

Calling this technique
Calling this technique "culturomics" makes it sound like it is some new field, and that analysis of this type has never been undertaken before. It is actually called bibliometrics, and it has been around for decades. Digital resources such as Google books allow now much larger amounts of data to be analyzed than was possible in the past, but this isn't some new field just invented by these researchers.

don't you really just mean the iPhone?
By "smartphone," don't you really just mean the iPhone? Game devs certainly aren't making a run for the booming Android goldmine. Also, the only genre that touchscreen controls aren't so hot in is traditional action games (platformers, shooters, fighters) where you have to move your character around with fast reaction times. Everything else works pretty damn well, I've found.

Re:This guy is just blowing smoke.
The headline is a bit misleading... "Police Sgt. John M. Delaney, aide to Commissioner William J. Fitchet, said Sedergren filed the complaint personally, not on behalf of the Police Department. “If officer Sedergren feels his rights were violated under the law then he has the opportunity to make his case in court, just like everyone else,” Delaney said." The Police did not file, a police officer filed.

I agreed that the ISS is NOT built for space exploration. Usually I would say scrap the whole manned mission to Mars and fix the economy first but I will say this. If you're going to built a multi-purpose vehicle, make the ship BIGGER. You have about (at least) six crew members riding in a giant tin can and if you're using a (FAILED) Orion space capsule, you won't have enough leg room, let alone privacy. Also you can't be weightless for the entire journey or your bones will become brittle. You need a ARTIFICIAL GRAVITY ROTATION DRIVE, similar to the ships from the 2010 and MISSION TO MARS movies. You can't go into deep space in a small (been there, done that) space capsule or otherwise you'll go cuckoo for coco puffs. If you're going to build a ship, think big and do it right. Also it wouldn't hurt to name the ship, ENTERPRISE

Re:This software must be broken
“dashboard that shows your happiness over time, and how it compares to the relative bliss of other couples” Sounds like the HOV lane to exactly the kind of gross self-destructive overanalytical behavior that rocks many relationships in the first place–another way to wallow in misery online. I think at-risk couples would do better to spend less time in front of glowing screens and more time in bed without clothes.

ah....oh
My nine year old nephew informed me last week that he definitely wanted a 3DS rather than an iPod Touch because it's 3D! That's better than the iPod Touch which isn't 3D at all. But I think in a few years he'll see the benefit of the iPod. Being able to buy a game a week with his allowance rather than saving up for a $30 or $40 game is a big advantage. Nintendo needs to wake up to the fact that game prices are going down. A game like the Legend of Zelda will probably still sell for $50, but they need to be competing more strongly in the under $10 market. That means getting their Internet connectivity sorted out and expanding the selection of downloadable titles.

Re:Can't they moderate their own wall?
Don't want to hurt anybody except criminals, but there have been some remarkable health recoveries by people who learn how much and what kind of nutrition to add to their regime for their particular health issue. Many nutrients and their benefits are not common knowledge and if you don't know how or where to find the appropriate information, then start looking the best way that you can. Internet search engines are quickest way. The documentation of these recoveries is huge. It is time for everyone to have access to this knowledge by all patents' doctors. If your doctor doesn't speak a great deal about your nutrition intake, you need to find one who will. The one that you have may not want to give up his or her drug company kickbacks.

Re:Can't they moderate their own wall?
The forum is intended for people interested in their product, whether they are informed or uninformed does not matter, Guy. As for the people who bash your product? Well, those people are already bashing your product, by hosting a Facebook page, the company is engage people, even the bashers. - Look a Trip Advisor, bad reviews happen and the properties are given a chance to respond. Which is what Facebook presents, a chance to respond. A better question, unless you are selling a faulty product, why would you be afraid of your customers talking with one another or with your company?
