Re:We're too cynical and messed up for KITT
Battlestar Galactica, and Heroes and Dr. Who on the air, and with the whole Star Trek franchise come and gone
Yeah, it was totally different back then. It had been four years since Battlestar Galactica premiered, they only had The Incredible Hulk (it had been three long years since The Amazing Spider-Man had gone off the air), we had a new Doctor on Doctor Who, and Star Trek had come and gone years before. -

Paris, Texas ?
I wonder if the blogger kept his anonymity by dictating his message through a one-way mirror to a woman in a strip joint ?

Re:Team Knight Rider
I was actually referring to this. The Hoff was smart enough to stay far away from it. Either that or he was too busy with Baywatch / Baywatch Nights / Nick Fury: Agent of Shield. Now, there's a hall of fame.

It's in post-production
Get Smart. If it were any smarter, they wouldn't make it at all. Don Adams must be rolling in his grave so fast that he couldn't answer his shoe phone. (When is someone going to make a cell phone in a shoe, for the yuppie fan-with-everything?)

Re:Apple hates freedom
That's right. If you don't like us lynching, er... people different from us, er... don't move into our town!!
There's a lot of people reading your statement in disbelief as you compare a town that lynches innocent folks to Apple locking the iPhone. You're not helping yourself. Do you really care about an unlocked iPhone that much that you'll write this crap?
No comparison there.
None.
Not even close. Watch Mississippi Burning sometime, then tell me how it compares to a locked iPhone. -
XF2 2009
BTW: They're really shooting a sequel: Untitled X-Files Sequel.

Re: brennifer
Which is better looking?: Brad/Jennifer
Oh come on. That's not a fair question. Aniston is unattractive to a lot of men, myself included. And while I'm not attracted to Brad in the slightest, it's clear that he's the better looking of the two. There's no competition.
To make it fair, pick someone like Keira Knightley, Rachel McAdams (the hot girl from Wedding Crashers), Jewel Staite (Kaylee from Firefly), or Christina Hendricks (Saffron/Mrs. Reynolds from Firefly).

Re:It is mostly bunkwhereas big power plant generators are 1000 MW or more.
Heh... that's it? I once heard of a professor somewhere that was able to build a portable generator, small enough to fit in the rear half of a small car, capable of outputting 1,210 MW...
Nonsense. Do you understand what the output of such a generator would be?
I believe it is very high voltage with not-so-much current. Well over 100,000 volts.
The separation between the output terminals would be larger than the space occupied by the car.
OK, what if I'm wrong and it is lots and lots of current. At 1200MW the output current would require something that isn't going to fit in a car to connect to the output terminals.
Either way, it isn't fitting in the space of a car. Not even an Excursion.
Okay, come on, are you kidding me?! You really didn't get it? It could be one of the most popular movies of the 80s! It sort of ruins the punchline when you take it serious. BTW, I revoke your nerd card. Maybe you can earn it back if you go rent the movie. -
Re:Ron Paul will get rid of it all
Good grief, enough with Greg Stillson already!
Oops. I mean Ron Paul. I always do that.

TV is 3 years faster than Government
The TV movie Category 6: Day of Destruction went into details that US power plants are vulnerable to remote attacks, and featured such a guy who managed to make generators self-destruct from his home PC (he died when connectivity was cut off, and realising what he did, he went to the power plant to fix things locally, but too late).
And there we go, 3 years later the government wakes up to the threat as well.
Guess my advice to government fellows is: watch more TV, it'll raise your IQ. OMG the irony :( -
Re:Terror is winning
the thin blue line (i think this is what you were referring to), great documentary about how when the justice system gets moving in one direction, it will never turn back regardless how obvious it is that they are mistaken. it's a protective mechanism--their authority relies on the assumption by most people that they always know what they're doing and are always right. start admitting mistakes and that changes.

Michael Burnett: Of course not.

Re:What's the line from Office Space

Bob Slydell: You see, what we're actually trying to do here is, we're trying to get a feel for how people spend their day at work... so, if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Bob Slydell: Great.
Peter Gibbons: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.
Bob Porter: Da-uh? Space out?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

"Evil Gets an Upgrade." Man, so ahead of its time. -
Don't Forget Creepshow
Creepshow touched on this (kinda) in the eposide called The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill.

Re:Censorship
If private businesses were allowed to make their own rules: New York old timer structural steel worker empire state building. Private Businesses that were forced by the government to adopt safety standards: Sky HKWorkers. Which would you rather be?
You would hardly expect the Cult of Skaro to be all that concerned about human safety when they built the Empire State Building with homeless laborers. -

Placing my bets...
This season I'm placing my bets early on what shows will not only get canceled but also never make it to DVD. These will be the shows I'll be capturing to my computer using an HD cable box and Firewire. Anything that's made it past its first season and/or had that season published on DVD (or and especially HD-DVD or BluRay like Heroes) I won't bother to record.
I'm betting that "The Big Bang Theory" will either be canceled quickly or otherwise never make it past one season. The biggest strain to credibility in this sitcom is the studio audience knowing enough quantum physics to get the jokes and laugh that loudly at them. I've seen the pilot.
Also, like the TV series Ferris Bueller, I expect The Sarah Connor Chronicles to fall... but not as hard. Maybe more like the series Starman, or Tracker . I understand the characterizations already break with continuity. Coming in mid-season is an established "Lack of Confidence"-labeled nail in its coffin.
I think Reaper may have a chance, or at least make for an entertaining one-season run. Tyler Labine continues to amaze me in finding good and steady work after portraying the delusional Croker in Evil Alien Overlords, but so far it was the only bad thing I've seen him in. Still, it seemed he was having fun doing it. -

Firefly stars
Alan Tudyk's just glad he didn't have to wear a bright-green wet suit the whole time he was working on the project.

Better show for Geeks
Here's a better show for geeks: Brainiac: Science Abuse
All the fun of science (Explosions, Beer) with none of the stuffy lectures.
