Re:Of course it won't be history
If you have Netflix and consider yourself a scientist that is not afraid of new evidence, watch "Expelled, No Intelligence Allowed". I found the documentary to be disturbing and scary as well as informative and entertaining.
Fuck Netflix, fuck Ben Stein, and fuck you for misrepresenting science and trying to dupe people into paying to watch Stein's tragicomic swipe at science.
Quoth the first paragraph of the video's review by The New York Times:
One of the sleaziest documentaries to arrive in a very long time, “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” is a conspiracy-theory rant masquerading as investigative inquiry.
The following link is to TPB's best-seeded torrent. Check the comments; one user has included a link to subtitles that refute the video's claims as they occur: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/4469949/Expelled_-_No_Intelligence_Allowed_%5B2008%5D

Windows 2000 falls under "NT 5" so the claim still holds

Re:Who proved the collision was an accident?
"Accident" is a euphamism, a weasel word designed to make the violation appear less severe.
Admit it, you have been watching "Hot Fuzz" haven't you?
Yes. It inspired me to become a policemanofficer.

Re:sounds like a possible chain reaction(tm) here
Nope. Google Images says that it looks similar to The Chain Reaction (1980, 5.4/10 stars). I think it really wanted to say Chain Reaction (1996, 5.3/10 stars). I can happily say, I missed both of them.

Porn & Gaming are outlets not cause
The problem isn't Porn and Gaming. The problem is humans are intelligent animals. Society has decided promiscuous sex and gratuitous violence are bad but men are genetically hardwired for both. Without an outlet to sate their biological imperatives men will eventually go nuts. The problem now isn't that men are less able to interact with women but the fact that modern society has empowered women in that they no longer feel they need to put up with men's crap. So you end up with lonely women waiting for a perfect guy and horny men sitting outside of schools trolling for kids. I'd also mention something about gender confusion but that's also a taboo subject now since it's perfectly normal. The smart guys ( literally and figuratively ) realize it's a losing proposition and choose porn over Polly's rejection and fragging over flippin out at work because somebody did something stupid. This is where I advocate putting the genie back in the bottle by revoking women's rights and subjugating them to man as it should be...oh look a new post on submityourflicks...BRB

Re:Hooray.
Actually, I think it was Rockwell...
I remember watching "60 Minutes" years and years ago and they did a report on the cost of the Shuttle. One interesting thing was that since the Shuttle was a "cost plus" contract (ie, we'll pay you how much it cost plus some more money), any other project that was not a "cost plus" project (at the time, building F-16s for the Air Force) that had some kind of overrun was just transferred to the Shuttle contract.
Rockwell also assisted in the James Bond picture, Moonraker, which required a few trips to England on the Concorde, all of which got put on the Shuttle contract.

Re:Ridiculous, Impossible, Etc.
The New York legislature has been a mess for longer than you think, according to this quote from 1776.
Lewis Morris: [as John Hancock is about to swat a fly] Mr. Secretary, New York abstains, courteously.
[Hancock raises his fly swatter at Morris, then draws back]
John Hancock: Mr. Morris,
[pause, then shouts]
John Hancock: WHAT IN HELL GOES ON IN NEW YORK?
Lewis Morris: I'm sorry Mr. President, but the simple fact is that our legislature has never sent us explicit instructions on anything!
John Hancock: NEVER?
[slams fly swatter onto his desk]
John Hancock: That's impossible!
Lewis Morris: Mr. President, have you ever been present at a meeting of the New York legislature?
[Hancock shakes his head "No"]
Lewis Morris: They speak very fast and very loud, and nobody listens to anybody else, with the result that nothing ever gets done.
[turns to the Congress as he returns to his seat]
Lewis Morris: I beg the Congress's pardon.
John Hancock: [grimly] My sympathies, Mr. Morris. -

The Germans, the French, the British, etc. But did the USA learn ANYTHING from this? No. Stupid USA.

Re:Abbot and Costello?
It is interesting to read about some of this stuff, though.
For example, the US Military declined to assist the film Apocalypse Now , the Philippine government did and they had plenty of old helicopters. The US Air Force did not provide assistance for the film Iron Eagle because the characters hack into Air Force computers. However, the Israeli Air Force had no problem helping out and they had plenty of F-16s. The US Military would not assist in Independence Day unless they removed all references to Area 51. And the US Military was glad to help out with the movie Stripes, much to Ivan Reitman's surprise, because while some characters are buffoons, the lead characters all become successes after joining the Army.

Autism?
How do you know the 'depressed' people aren't higher up the Autistic Spectrum than average people?
I have Aspergers Syndrome (doctors diagnosis, not someone who simply thinks they fit the category) and I find myself downloading & watching a heck of a lot of tv shows and films, I do get into discussions online, I used to post to usenet and be a huge IRC addict 10+ years ago but these days mainly it's technical or humerous forums, probably because to be honest I just don't like dealing with people face to face if I can help it, I never have and never will. To me it's stressful having to deal with people a lot of the time, and I hate it when anonymous online idiots roll out the "you should get out more and make friends" mantra, ie "why aren't you one of us, be one of us", those people have absolutely no fucking clue about the Autistic Spectrum people beyond Rain Man, and that's just one fine tuned 'Hollywood' view of Autism.
BTW, want to watch a great film about an Autistic character played by Sigourney Weaver? Snow Cake -
Re:Raw imagery
There's a bunch of raw imagery up from Cassini at the CICLOPS imaging lab site here.
A lot of the Cassini imagery was used for the animated, 3D IMAX movie Quantum Quest which, incidentally, stars both Captains Kirk, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. It is a kids movie, so don't expect too much.

Tesla is revered as god here...
I live in Belgrade, Serbia, and Tesla is revered as god here. For a person who only spent a night in Belgrade (he was born in what is now Croatia but was of Serbian ethnicity), it's a bit strange he got major boulevard and airport named after him. He is also on our money and has a number of monuments.
We also have a Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade, which I recommend everybody visit. It has working examples of some of his inventions, so you can see what the first radio controlled device looked like.
I don't mind it though, he was a brilliant mind. Of course, sometimes he was out of touch with reality and had no sense of business, but geniuses often are like that...
If you can find this series subtitled and want to learn more about the life of Tesla, I strongly recommend watching this.

Re:It's not about having to wait; social network
The real question is, what movie am I spoiling?
Spartacus? It's not much of a spoiler, as it turned out that they were all Spartacus.
My turn: Rob Schneider.
There, what movie did that spoil? Click here for the answer.

Gigli has no commercial value. It wouldn't prevent the MPAA from suing for a copyright violation.
