Knowing what to do with batteries to keep a good life on them stresses me out. Consider this. A nearly opposite position was taken by a drone battery "expert", who obsesses and lives by the "keep the charge at 50% when not in use" and acts like any amount of time at a high charge is bad for the battery. Double check me, but it also seems like he points to not allowing it to hang at 1% or 0% for any length of time, but any temporary drop to 5 or 10% isn't a big deal. I found the link:

Also, DJI drone manufactuer user "paper/owner" guides say do not drop below 20% for best battery life and store at 50% charge.

I'm with you on the laptop thing though. Many laptops that never use their battery seem to have good batteries, and they stay at 100% charge for years.

It's really hard to know what to believe, so I try to meet somewhere in the middle. I always store things long term at 50%, I try not to run many cycles on my batteries, and I try not to let them get below 20%.

Historically, technical books follow the pattern of, "Display a diagram, chart, or photo on one page, and talk about it on the facing page". Reading such books is MUCH harder when you can only see one page at a time, and trying to do it on a device that takes hundreds of milliseconds to flip between pages will slowly drive you mad. Slow page-flipping times is the #1 reason why reading technical books in ebook form is such an awful experience.

I'm pretty sure the guy who made the video pre-rendered the entire book to bitmap images, because I doubt whether ANY tablet available in 2012 could have rendered pages from a typical PDF textbook quickly enough to render every page from scratch in realtime.

How about the interview they had with a "random person on the street" that turned out to be one of the CNN camera men?

Has been busted fabricating news ON VIDEO, no less than 2 DOZEN times in the past decade alone... This "Study" is likely just more leftist BS.

I'm just going through the paper right now, but there's a ton of sketchy and indefensible assumptions.

For example, the study relies on a list of sites known to have fake news, with a "representative article" for each site.

Taking one at random, apparently this news article was enough to get Breitbart listed as a "fake news" site.

The problem is that the article in question is completely and totally accurate, but was probably branded "fake news" because it went against the narrative of many Hillary supporters.

Another entry shows hannity.com, and the link (no longer working at Hannity) was about an undercover journalist who managed to impersonate Huma Abedin at the polling station; effectively, able to vote as someone else.

A quick search shows that this actually happened, it's a Project Veritas sting, and there's a youtube.com video of the incident.

It is immediately apparent that neither of these "representative" articles is fake in any way. I couldn't even find inaccuracies or bad framing in the articles - there's no sound reason to say that these are examples of fakery.

This paper does not at all rise to the level of quality and fact-checking that a published paper should have!

It's nothing more than a leftist hit piece.

Confirmed at the news conference. Not enough fuel left on the central core; only one of the three engines managed to relight, and the stage hit the water at 300mph. However, SpaceX not only didn't plan not to use the central core again, but doesn't plan to use the side boosters either; they're not Block 5, and SpaceX only plans to re-launch Block 5 from now on. That said, the side boosters appear to be in good shape.

The main concern right now is on the upper stage. They've never had a stage dwell so long in such a high radiation flux. It should re-light, but they won't know until they try.

Right from the start you could tell they were the same: both feeds had the connection to the center core at the top, and the background land was in the same orientation. To be correct, one or the other should have been flipped by 180 degrees.

Having said that, I only suspected we were getting a duplicate feed up to the point when they headed for the same landing pad. I had to rewatch to get confirmation it was the same feed from the start.

Not exactly sure I'd liken this to 60% off a laptop battery. Apple is still making a ton of money off these battery replacements. It's just that the amount they were making has dropped from obscene to huge.

Laptop batteries are typically 30-50 Watt-hours. The iPhone 6 and earlier use about 1500 mAh batteries at 3.8 V, which is 5.7 Watt-hours. By comparison a Samsung Galaxy S5 battery is nearly twice the size - 2800 mAh (10.78 Wh) but costs just $9. I suppose you could say the extra $20 pays for the labor to do the battery swap, if you believe Apple Store workers make $600 an hour.

I'm starting to think any comment that starts with "so" followed by a misstatement of the opponent's argument is the tell for this.
