I like to buy second hand games, I occasionally like to be able to sell them, or loan them to friends, or whatever. Much like with books. Steam doesn't really do that AFAICT.

the pc game used market is pretty much not existant anyway because of cd keys, the original owner can still reuse the cdkey to play with a cracked copy of the game or even sell it to someone else

Android, Playstation3, Mac OS X, iOS, Linux, Windows. They all have OpenGL support and thus anyone is now porting, if they haven't already and newcommers all use OpenGL. In fact all the CAD apps have been using OpenGL solely! All the big players and studios are using OpenGL now.

Now the real question is; What is Microsofts next move to stay in the game?

Microsoft doesn't have to do anything, how many opengl games came out in the last years? I can think of wolfenstein, some indie games and then what? every other games is running on directx
opengl may be available on a lot of platforms but who cares it's not like you can port crysis from pc to an iphone in a day just because it's in opengl(I know it's not in opengl, it's just an example)
I'm not a game developer but I think that directx/opengl can easily be abstracted by the engine to use whatever is best on the platform it runs, something like Qt, and I think valve is doing that with the source engine right now

because till a few years ago we did have many political parties, especially on the left wing, then most of them reunited together to create the two major political parties we have now PD(left wing) and PDL(right wing), the problem is that all the parties that formed PD had really different ideas since some of them were more center sided while other were from the extreme left(yes we are one of the few country with a communist party still alive) so everytime they tried to do something nobody could agree and of course they failed.

the ps2 hardware emulator was removed right after launch, european ps3 never had it, instead they used a software based emulator, so yeah there was no real reason to remove it from newer models to cut the price, the only reason is that the ps2 is still selling well after 10 years, and probably because the emulator didn't work very well. Microsoft halted the xbox1 emulator development after a few months too but I don't know if they removed it from newer models.
