<rant>P.S. Not to mention that somebody at kde decided that konqueror should be a web browser and not a file manager. I'll never understand this... from my perspective they had some software that was a very mediocre web browser but what was in my opinion, the best file manager in existence and they threw out the file manager. For one thing, those two functions should never be in the same software, you can thank Microsoft and leveraging its monopoly for that particular monstrosity, but something is obviously wrong with the kde development process if they're making decisions like this. It's no wonder that kde4 turned out so badly.*grumble grumble*</rant>
konqueror is still a file manager, the only difference is that dolphin is the default one on kde4
unfortunately we don't have an ETA for porting konsole on windows yet, since windows doesn't have pty and we are only a handful of developer that work on the windows porting
meanwhile you can try console2, it supports tabbing and transparency http://sourceforge.net/projects/console/
It's great that they've made it to Windows, but it needs some polish. And how about a new theme too eh? Windows doesn't look like Windows 3.11 anymore, but this default theme still does. That's an easy fix that should be included in the next version.
since it's so easy why don't you do that? unfortunately there a lot of dependencies in kdelibs like dbus, soprano, strigi etc.. most of these are mandatory but there are also other optional requirement that are checked at compile time, so we can't build 10 kinds of kdelibs(or package xxx) just to disable something
it's like linux distro you can't choose to install qt4 with ssl support or without it but you'll get what's available
libqt-mt is probably qt3 not qt4, but anyway qt4 provides a lot of things and nowadays disk space is not a problem, try to mix together gtk+libxml+webkit/gecko+many more things and you'll probably use much more disk space than qt4 with different api and with all kind of cross platform issue
I don't understand your problem with windows, but qt4 isn't just c++, there are many bindings for python, ruby and even c#
on mac os x qt4 looks good to me, there is even an alpha version of qt4 that uses cocoa instead of carbon
well i think that kde 4.1 would be more suitable for the end user because a lot of great kde applications like k3b aren't yet ported to qt4, but kde 4.0 should be released soon so developers could port and test their apps in a stable kde4 desktop
component is just for video while hdmi can also carry HD audio and btw at least here in europe a monster component cable(1mt) costs about 70 while a no brand hdmi costs 15, also xbox360 component cable and sony hdmi cable cost about 20-30 and they are pretty good
there are two version of xbox 360, the core one is without hdd and the pro one has a 20gb hdd. there is also a limited edition, the elite with a 120gb hdd but the fact is that the core version has no hdd so game developers couldn't use it
office 2007 it's a pretty cool software and the new interface is really good too
Microsoft has really improved the ease of use with the ribbon toolbar, IMHO not like vista where they have ruined it, so why return back?
i know that more than half of office's user are dumb but sooner or later they will have to learn the new interface otherwise they can simply use paper & pencil
the article it's not complete, today sony also announced the new eyetoy for ps3 that can save video to the ps3's hdd and then they can be also edited with a bundled software, so they probabily want to push ps3 + playstation eye with this new site
geforce 8800 have real problem with shadows, for example in oblivion and splinter cell double agent shadows are really aliased, while on call of juarez they flash continuosly
metal gear solid series has the best ai i've ever seen, while the worst is splinter cell for sure, just shoot at the light and they'll never see you even if you are close to the enemy and you also have 3 green lights on your head...

IBM did realtime raytracing using three ps3 with linux
