And, of course, you specifically seem to have missed the preamble:
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
I understand though. You hate society, you hate the idea of people working together, you hate the general idea behind the formation of the United States. I agree with what you're saying in general, however, in this case this news hit the local channels the same day as a report on the companies in the Seattle area scrambling to find people for these types of jobs.
The simple matter here is, because of revenue declines, the state is making budget cuts. Those cuts are probably going to eliminate this program, a program that is needed to keep up with the demand of just local area (Washington state) jobs in the field. It's a total failure of this and the last generations responsibility to re-invest in the future of this country for the betterment of future generations, and this country as a whole is suffering immensely from that.
So i walked up to the counter and put my two bags in front of the lady. She says "Vacationing in Bermuda, I see." I say, "Yeh, but i want this bag to go to Brussels, and this bag to go to Tokyo." With something of a blank look, she says "I'm sorry sir, but we can't do that," to which i respond "Why not? You did it last week."
While your point is valid for that specific event, what the RIAA has been doing is more along the lines of: a car that kind of looked like a car that might be his is all we need to extort everyone with a similar looking car. Your ip address doesn't equal a cars license plate; RIAA has wanted to make it out as it's static, can never change, and the computer it's hooked to can never change, and you are the only person that could ever, ever use that computer.
It's not even that simple. It's like saying the police picked up everyone who owned a blue Taurus, threw them in jail for years, tortured them, without any evidence they were anything other than someone just driving along.
In fact, it's probably worse than that, considering the amount of money that was being given out for "possible" terrorists to be identified early on in Afghanistan... it'd be like the police doing all that because someone was paid enormous amounts of money to suggested you might have once driven a blue Taurus.
