I hope that they do better! i'm going to upgrade my blackberry to the latest model soon and buy a playbook to support them as well. I have been a blackberry lover since the good old days. I will never buy an iphone, and android does not interest me.
i still feel that blackberries are the best phones on the market for so many reasons and hope that RIM stays strong.
they already have fucked up monumentally. over and over and over again they make the site worse and worse, less usable, less user friendly, more frustrating, less options, less control, less privacy.
I'm not really sure HOW they could fuck it up any more than it has already been fucked up. still, people (including me) keep coming back. the network effect has set in, fb is here to stay. i'm not happy about it (especially since it is a data mining application created solely for the purpose of monitoring citizens), but unless something else comes along that has everyone on it already, i'm unlikely to switch.
your signature is really annoying. deliberately deceptive, making it look like there are more replies and trying to get a click? but where does the link go? to a bit.ly site, which may redirect me to.. who knows where?
it's clear on reading to me that since the inception of making available.kml files, this is the first year that they stopped doing so. i agree though, not the best sentence!
your probably right, for mainstream media news stories anyway, most of the tweets would be pointless repeating.
but what about news that the mainstream media doesn't want you to hear?
for example, anti-olympic protesters at the upcoming games in Vancouver BC could use this to search for first hand accounts of the protests. i could see co-ordinators using this service to communicate with protestors in realtime to amplify and distribute virally what will be posted on sites like indymedia.org.
that is but one example, i can think of a lot more types of first person, accurate, original news that the likes of Reuters, CNN, NBC and Fox wouldn't like you to hear.
not that im saying thats good justification for enabling google to search tweets, that particular kingdom of retardedness can stay outta my search results please.
I almost bought the storm, but i went to the store and tried it out and didn't like the touch screen. So i bought the blackberry BOLD 9000, and I am very happy with it.
no, it is valid, as it's aimed at the current google service.
the point of my post was basically to say that, trusting google to host your mission critical "waves", is just as insane as trusting gmail, or amazon S3 or any other hosted service to hold your mission critical information.
i'm specifically talking about businesses here. I happily use a gmail account for personal correspondence. I do not use gmail in my corporate office, as it doesn't make sense.
even better, someone might see this message when setting up their account:
'sorry, somebody else already has that password'
oh, ok great, now go simply login with it :)

If you are a customer of theirs, immediately cancel your service and tell them why you are doing it. that ought to send the right message.
news for nerds, stuff that matters. from 1930.

guess what's more annoying than trolling? repeatedly reminding everyone about trolling.
i think they are called "pilots" actually.
if you are an employee who is happy with your job, does that make you, gruntled?

why would you do such a thing?
a great documentary on the subject, from a canadian point of view: http://www.theunionmovie.com/TheUnionWeb.html
after watching this, you will understand why it should be legalized. and why it never will be.
typing canadian postal codes is so much easier with capslock ie: G7G H8G

my kingdom for a mod point!
I think they should turn all the pictures of you black and white. (or at least your profile pic)

I used to have OCD. now i have CDO, the letters are in alphabetical order LIKE THEY SHOULD BE!
how much is the right about of neck to put into the noose?
see, that's sorta the same problem with DRM, once you get to the neck, there is pretty much no going back.
