any hopes of a real life 'Jurassic Park' are probably going to remain science fiction forever. I'm sure that 2000 years ago, any hopes of a human being walking on the moon was also eternal science fiction, and yet we achieved it. Don't doubt what we as a species are capable of. Forever is a very strong word. Who knows what we will be able to do in, say, 1000 years from now.
That, of course, if we manage to keep Earth habitable.
hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is. http://www.bash.org/?5273
The best way to deal with them when we could was to put the swarmed device out in the sun. For whatever reason they didn't like that. I don't know if this is the same variety of ant, but it might work... It's not the same. Those were vampire ants.
I've been reading and commenting on Slashdot for years now, and I'm also from South America: Brazil to be precise. So I totally agree that it helps a lot with improving your English.
The point is: this is something you do on your spare time, not while at work when you have more important stuff to do.
(And yes, I'm at work right now, so take this with a lot of salt).
Most Yahoo and MSN are going south and Google is going north. And Google wins again. I see no reason why MS and Yahoo would fight for those damn Mexicans, specially while Google goes for the Canadians.
English is my second language and those things don't drive me nuts. They might drive someone trying to understand what I said nuts, but that's a different story.
Actually, this is the fork announcement (although the parent post contains more information overall):

For those of you revering to 2.3, this solution will work for awhile but eventually you are probably going to want new features that Pidgin developers introduce. I have created a fork for this purpose called "funpidgin" which is on sourceforge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/funpidgin/). It is my first software project and I'm hoping it will be a lot of fun. If it gains a serious following, it can have a more serious name.
Source code has already been released and I will put binary packages on there within the next few days. Currently it is identical to pidgin-2.4.0 except the text box is manually resizable and the "feature" where pidgin remembers your conversation window placement can be turned off if need be.
I'm using it now and it works very well. Please check it out and tell me what you think!"
I, for one, welcome our new beta Slashdot overlords.
Turn in your geek card. You failed on a simple hello world program: Unused variable: exclamation_point.
But, does it work with Google Checkout?
let me introduce you to my friend, Chuck Norris...
That, of course, if we manage to keep Earth habitable.
Have you hear of Corporate Security Policy?
Do you ask yourself every now and then why the IT admins on your company hate you?
And for those of you that don't mind paying a few bucks for a good AV, repeat after me:
NOD32
NOD32
NOD32
(No, I don't work for them, just love their product)

Of course not, just saying.
China is considered second world, not third world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:First_second_third_worlds_map.svg
Outsourcing: I would love to see the new launch site in Delhi!
Meh, just get a time travel machine and get over it.

On Rotten Tomatoes Iron Man currently has 94%. That is VERY GOOD.
