Zune DRM Cracked

true fact- I'm considering a zune, now. because Ipods don't have high enough capacity. The zune, then, with it's freshly nonesistant DRM, is something very attractive to me.
This wasnt true before I read this headline. The Zune may be crap, but if you look at it as a screen, hard drive, and headphone jack, well... that's pretty handy.
Current Linux distributions are between 5 and 7 years ahead of anything that MS have produced, and make Vista look very old fashioned, slow, unreliable and expensive.
I disagree. Current linux distributions may have an edge in stability, and obviously they're free, but I would hardly say that linux is ready for anything more than out-of-sight servers and geek zealots.
I use ubuntu, and I love it, but I couldn't install google earth without opening the terminal. I don't have any idea what I did to install google earth, I found a guide online and copied the commands. I couldn't install songbird without the terminal, and I was frustrated that I had to drag the script into the terminal and delete extra text when the terminal refused to accept my spelling of "installsongbird.sh". Come to think of it, I can't remember the last program I HAVE installed, except by terminal, and I can think of no end of situations where opening the terminal hearalded a several-hour ordeal with IRC support chats and google.
Of course, there is the enourmous "ad/remove programs" list, but you can't honestly expect any sane person to settle for that.- I don't want to have to hope that some cool app has been added to some index, and I don't CARE about 99% of the apps in that list. further, I don't want to wait a minute for it to scan indexes before I can start, and other for it to re-scan so I can close.
Linux may be 5-7 years ahead of linux in terms of stability, but otherwise I can discern no clear advantage. Linux is a nest of geek fascism, but it really isn't ready in any distribution for the general user. saying it is doesn't make it so.
the windows install wizard... really. it's a wonderful thing. I won't say that ubuntu is "ready for the desktop" untill a similar system has become a standard for ALL linux apps. fact- people are scared of the terminal. I'm disgusted at how often I have to use the terminal in ubuntu. I don't like to use the terminal, I don't like having to scour the internet looking for some way to do somethings that seemed so basic in windows, installing a new program is particularly malicious, but so is setting the resolution higher than 1024x786 or accessing a network.
It's particularly frustrating because all of the craze reviews for ubuntu say you can live without ever using the terminal once. I, for one, like to have some choice in what programs I put on my computer. if that's true for you, too, you'll need the terminal in ubuntu. People are afraid of the terminal.
I do, in fact, love using ubuntu- but 50% of that joy comes from the sheer geekiness of it all. I want to learn it, but untill you don't NEED to learn it, I won't say ubuntu is ahead of microsoft, at least not in terms of desktop-readiness.
""Only if it can also read our moods. How would it know if I am in the mood to read a book (good light source) or to watch TV (dimmer)?""
How about this- if we turn on the TV, the lights dim. if we are holding a book (probably with an imbedded RFID tag) and stop moving for a bit, it'll focus a light on us.
Why does it need to read our minds, when our actions are so much more easily observable?
Question- why was parent modded -1 Troll?
He was obviously indicating the absurdity of denying the holocaust, with an equally absurd statement denying the existence of a real thing - UK schools.
I modded +1 funny, but he was still 0 Troll, so I think justice can better be served by me EXPLAINING the joke to people who read mod points instead of comments.
I've seen these shrits, before. they're pretty underwhelming. it doesn't give the "beat box" effect, it just flashes periodically, it's difficult to tell if it's actually lighting up to different levels.
also, the screen doesn't bend, so it's... stiff. and dorky looking.
The Xerox machine at the office where I work is on a similar deal- We lease the machine, rather than buy it. Although in the case of our Xerox, we're responsible for toner and paper, but repair costs are included in the cost of the lease.
so I guess that just means we're getting ripped off unless it beaks down more.
As I was reading your post, I had to check my memory if I had posted in this thread or not.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I, Too, am an unorthodox touch-typist, utilizing my ring, middle, and index fingers on my left hand, my pinky is only for shift and control, etc. on my right hand, it's the same story, and only my right index ever hits space. My space bar has a cool, totally-smooth depression worn into it from use. Also, neither hand seems to have control over the middle columns of letters, whichever hand is closest hits t,y,f,g,h or b- tending towards left-hand dominance.
We should start an odd-typists awareness group.
wouldn't existing electric vehicles already meet the "100 mpg" criterea? Undefined gas mileage is certainly better than 100 mpg.
Or what about a gas/electric hybrid that didn't really use it's gas engine, except at highway speeds, and charged up from a wall socket?
I think a major reason that Vista isn't flying off the shelves like XP did is because people don't NEED Vista.
XP works just fine. Windows 2000/me, however, was a terribly mangled and unstable peice of software. XP, in my experience, has been remarkably stable.
ME, on the other hand, which I was running before XP... well... There was definitely a sense of urgency in switching to XP.
...If the ISP's and other services that the data goes through failed to provide the identity of individuals who were pirating music-- But I don't think that's been a problem.
How could they hold the harware manufacturer's responsibe? That'd be like charging H&K for every peron murdered with one of their guns.
What if it weren't remote control? What if, upon activation, all that happened was the plane figured out where it was, and plotted its own course, never accepting any outside-guiding signal? the removes the threat of flying into "zombie airspace", where someone is broadcasting a hack-signal and crasing planes.
yeh. watch him try to prove otherwise.
i wonder if that's the mentality with the worm, can he prove it didn't gather any information? can he prove he didn't intend to use it as a backdoor, later on? can he prove he didn't plan to use that worm as a base for a working, malicious worm?
may as well arrest him for having a keyboard, which could be used to do any of those things.

because a "complete" theory is called a Law-- of which there are remarkably few. it is always important to remember, however, that Theory != Hooey.

So now it's just:
1- Pay Microsoft fee
2- ???
3- Profit!
looks like an improvement to me. Maybe I have steps 2 and 3 swapped.

No-one would take it seriously.
But I'm not throwing away my XP disk.

if they could make a car out of this.... and run it into a wall of it... what would happen?
or IR cameras? sharks =/= cold blooded. high intensity lights would scare off the sharks, of course, but why not use IR?
