Than that means that most US companies are Pirates. I am willing to bet that you can not walk into any company in the US or that is US based, with an IT department and not find any open source software or platform up and running. I'll even go so far as to say that the company that this person is employed by is running some open source "product" !
I wonder how some of these MORONS get jobs
this took place in the Delaware county PA about 10 to 12 months ago.
One of the tests they gave locals was to give the card swipe area a good tug before scanning
Guess the front fascia would pull off easily
and it wasn't the banks hat caught it, it was the local police & Wawa
Students in the 12th grade often suffer from senioritis and gain nothing from their experience. Really because my daughter is a senior this year and taking all Advanced AP Courses that count as College credit for most of the colleges in our area.
As for the work for education both Norway and Germany have great systems Military or Community service for a year or 2 ( forget which) but that covers the cost of college
Just a few things I'd like to point out
Bush didn't fight an unpopular war he fought an unjust war for the sake of $ and that made it unpopular.
Ignoring of the rules of engagement and the Geneva convention made it and the US even more unpopular with the rest of the world
we went in on a false premise to protect our interests. Granted Saddam was an evil mad man that needed to be removed from the earth but come on
this is now very apparent since Bush has left office the us and other middle eastern countries have come together to in a joint efforts to put this snake down pre Obama they would not work with the US
Really he won the war? Because last time I checked we were still there in IRAN and engaged in
Afghanistan where we should have been all along
Have your logs set in a password protected web space
I'm not really sure what O/S your running - but I know on BSD copying logs to a readable format on a web page is fairly straight forward
Make sure you put them all there and turn on verbose logging ( if you have the disk space)
oh you want to see the logs here's the address
there is no need to give your provider root access to your machine
if this isn't acceptable maybe give them only access to read/var/log/* or what ever your defined path is
but to give them the root password Not happening most I would agree to is read only access thought a limited account
, Like the old Think geek shirts
No I will not fix your computer
I read your email
you can be replaced by a small shell script
seriously though, a good IT department is basically unseen
if they are highly visible then are they not doing their jobs
The company I work for thought their IT department (think billions of revenue fortune 500 type)was over paid and not visible enough
that was until we lost corporate HQ and the IT department DR/BC plan kicked in.
Then they saw us but only briefly while we set them up at the DR sight then we were gone
The fact that we lost the building at 10 PM and business continued the very next day with out skipping a beat spoke volumes.
so you may want to ask yourself(short of having a disaster) is this being done so management has an idea as to the worth of the help desk
and make them more visible to the general populace of the company you work for or is it a dumbing down of the IT department, in particular the help desk (think out sourcing)
If it is the prior then it may be a good thing
I use a FreeBSD box as my home router on old equipment with a commercial grade WAP interface for my wireless an old 3com managed switch that hasn't failed me yet -- it also acts as a firewall
in 10 years It hasn't failed me OS wise although I've had hardware burn out on me causing a rebuild it works flawlessly
When one of these town counsel persons/mayors/whatever elected official moves up to Congress or Senate. what if this has adversely affected 911 services for this municipality. would the MPAA then be held accountable for endangering the lives of thousands of innocent citizens ( i guess according to them no one is innocent)
Insider trading is as we already know BAD (Ivan the Bad http://eightiesclub.tripod.com/id316.htm) on many levels -- the biggest problem is that the rules are played lose and free with out any thought of getting caught.
so maybe more regulation isn't the answer but harsher penalties are if you stand to lose everything then maybe you will follow the rules
Personally I think All assets should be taken and what ever doesn't get applied to payback should go to say funding health care or some social issue of the times. I mean that makes more sense than the current war on drugs.
Wall street is still showing record profits after they stole the billions from the American people
I start to wonder how much is enough when I see stuff like this -
I mean really how many houses cars boats do you need ?
Wonder if they are still saying that they don't need tighter regulation.
yea except the adult entertainment industry is usually at the bleeding edge of tech
oh and one more thing they tend to pay Very well
with fringe benefits
Depends on the school system.
My daughter had home work over the summer in Calc, Stats, Psychology and Spanish.
She has a quizes/tests scheduled for the first days of class relating to her summer home work
yes there is a basic protocol for open man hole covers
fenced off or a person making sure that no one falls in, this was not the case. reasonable safety precautions to protect the public were not taken into consideration in this case.
A light pole is something all together to different it doesn't change configuration as a man hole does when left uncovered.
Lastly she doesnt live in the savannah so
