every one talks like bittorent is the best thing since sliced bread, but I don't find it too usefull. It seems to be ok if the file is only moderately big and I can get it quick. However, for big and popular files, I get great speeds (768Kb/s) for about 5 minutes, then my upstream (128kb/s) gets saturated and my download drops to about 5kB/s. At that speed, I could wait in line at gamespy or whatever site and download it. At least then, I can still use my internet connection.
What? Ever heard of the nForce Chipset from nVidia? The graphics chip it used was bassed on the gForce 2. Then they upgraded it. And now they have upgraded again to use a low end FX chip. These chipsets give pretty good perforance in most of today's games.
... slightest systemic change would result in zero matches.
I thought of that too, but then I thought, they could just stip out all white space. Then do it with and without the comments. Although, it would be posible to beat this if you change all of the variable names, or constant strings so that there is at least one change every other line. Maybe the shredder ignores the variable names too?
Mine is quiet... I just bought an Asus FX 5900. It has a pretty good sized heat sink and I think two fans, but not the blower that the early FX's came with.:)
I tried it, but couldn't get nvidia's drivers to compile for it. I didn't try very hard, but gentoo's installer, and the installer I downloaded directly from nVidia gave errors.
I have tried both KDE and Gnome, and the thing that keeps me going back to KDE is feature where if I mouse over a shaded window, it unshades, then reshades when I move the mouse away. It is a small detail. It is realy annoying to have to keep clicking to go back and forth between what I am doing and Gaim. Also, the file manager in Gnome seems a little too simplistic. Other than those two things, I don't see much difference between the two. Maybe some one could enlighen me on some of the things Gnome offers, or how to fix these issues.
for the really good ones maybe, but HP has had one for $1000 on the market for a while, and just introduced one for $600 or $700. Although, from what I've head, none of the color lasers, even HP's $2000 one, are worth it because of the expiring cartreges, drums, fusers, and belts.
you forgot the bit about wasting half a stick of each of the inks every time it powers up. Igues it's not a problem if you never have power probelms and every on knows not to turn it off at night.
The way I see it, the vast majority of people who buy these computers (HP, Compaq, eMachine...) wouldn't know what to do with a real windows disk. They mess up there computer, they put this magic CD in and their computer works again. No installing drivers or any of the other software that came with it. Just one simple CD and they are done. With the excepion of laptops, I think any one who is comfortable installing windows from scratch on a computer will probobly have built that computer themselves and won't have to wory about a recovery CD.
Also Windows must be installed on the first partition of the drive and the MBR(master boot record) will replace any lilo or grub bootloader.
I'm not so sure about this, I've had a hard time in the past getting rid of LILO. Reinstalling windows hasn't ever done it for me. I just recenly figured out that you can run fixmbr from the recovery console to get rid of it. Maybe it's just me...
What's worse is they changed the box. They used to be designed to be used to store the disks. Now they have tear off tops and you have to buy some big plastic thang to have a decent place to keep them.

long live gentoo
For the latest, fastest OpenGL support for Doom3 when it comes out.
changing batteries stinks
That's why the reciver for the MX700 is also a charger. Just set the mouse in it when you arn't using it.
I'd like to see the page, what misspelling takes you to it?
I'd say root them all, then delete all their files, but that might be a little less than legal...
... *shrug* good luck.
Oh, root _for_

Am I the only one who read this in the mysterious future and thought the "See any serious problems with this story?" line was funny?
They haven't automated away the prof's job. They don't grade papers any way. That's what TA's are for...
But weren't they suposed to get blown up or somthing? I would have enjoyed seeing them reduced to ity bitty pieces.
You forgot OGG THE CAVEMAN.
Too bad there isn't a [-1 SHHHHHHHH!] moderation. we realy need to hide these kinds of reminders. ;)
nice, but isn't she a little young...

It wastes half a stick of each color every time you turn it on. It is better to leave it on.
