  1. Dukes of Hazard on Your Future Car's Hood Will Be Welded Shut · · Score: 2, Funny

Remember The General Lee? The Duke boys had it's doors wielded shut. And it worked well for them. Who's to say that having a hold wielded shut won't work for everyone else. I say it is worth a try as long as I can slide across the hood before doing a get away. YEEE HAAWWW!!!

  2. Choice on Apple Announces 25 Million Song Downloads · · Score: 1

I like iTMS. It is pretty easy to find songs and get a copy. It is legal, which is nice, but there are things lacking. For one, I can not always find the song I want. Like if I hear a song I like on the radio and try to get a copy at iTMS. Well I might find a partial cd that does not have the song I am looking for. So it is back to p2p. Why would I buy some junk songs that I don't want? And anyone who even for a minute thought that having a legal way to obtain copyrighted material would stop p2p file sharing is severly mislead.

So yes there is a long ways to go, but just look at how far things have come.

  3. Cartoons on Music Industry Develops Centralized File-Sharing System · · Score: 1

The idea of using entertainment as advertising is nothing new. Satruday morning cartoons have done this for years. Remember Transforms: The Movie.

  4. It is time? on New Terminator 3 Trailer Released · · Score: 1

That is the only thing truly wrong with the trailer. Arnold should say... "I'll be back!"

  5. The movie sucked on a lot of levels on Rick Berman Doesn't Know Why Nemesis Tanked · · Score: 1

The Data plot was old and badly done. And yes, without Data there is not any way you can make a Trek movie. So the future is uncertain. They will make one more, but if that tanks say good bye. Picard should have taken a back seat for this outing. As said before, nothing thing to see here folks, keep moving. Oh and someone explain hew Riker got married? I thought Whorf had Troy already. Oh well, to much Anime to keep up with such things.

  6. LIES ALL LIES on Another iPod Competitor · · Score: 1

Contrary to popular belief, that computer salespeople at Best Buy are not all nitwits. Most of them know what they are talking about but are hindered by corporate policy.

Which Best Buy do you go to. The one's here in Michigan have nothing but underage morons. Why I even had one sales-punk tell me I should not even look at a dvd player unless I had a digital TV.

Ahhhh! Maybe one day I SHOULD take over the world and kill all lawyers. While I am at it I should get ride of the sales folks at Best Buy and Circuit City.

    Yeah for me.

  7. Fever scenes and a better story on Star Wars Episode II DVD Release on Nov. 12 · · Score: 1

I agree. At this point the only thing I want to see is Episode III. And I want it to be dark. When I say dark I mean light sabers swishing in the darkness, screams from small women, children and guys named Jar Jar. I want to see a villain that is so scary that even Mike Tyson is scared to face the guy without ear muffs.

Forget the love story stuff, the only love'n I want to see in Episode III are tears of joy being stripped away as a loved one is ripped from some hero's arms resulting in inflammable pain. I want to see the Empires enemies crushed and driven before them, great suffering and the lamentations of women.

Now only if they could get they guy from Episode V to direct.

  8. Marketing on Jornada Killed, iPaq To Live On · · Score: 1

The ipaq has a better name in the marketplace. If you look at their roadmap you will see this is what they have done with all the products. If one product has a better name in the marketplace it is kept.

  10. Isn't this like the Death Star? on Lunar Lasers · · Score: 1

Know I know Star Wars is fiction, but the idea of a planet (well moon) sized object firing a huge beam of energy was what the Death Star was all about. And with the US already talking about Star Wars programs, can a Death Star be far off?

  11. What does love have to do with anything? on New Star Wars Episode II Trailer Out · · Score: 2, Funny

All I've got to say is the next movie better be dark. I will give Lucus the whole love story thing in ATOTC. TPM sucked, except for Darth Mule of course. But the next movie better be dark.

And when I say dark I don't mean "my isn't the night sky lovely tonight". I mean "MY God! They just shoot they poor guys dog!" dark.

I mean I want to see Dark Vader come out taking candy from babies, kicking old ladies down stairs, pulling on Yoda's ears will singing the theme to South Park.

    I mean eerie dark.

  14. @home without all the junk on Mobilestar Less Mobile; Excite@Home Less Exciting · · Score: 1

I have Excite@home. The speed is great. All the extra fluff (read content) sucks. I don't want to know the news as delivered by them. I don't need yet another email address. What I do need is a fast connection. And that is what I got. To my surprise I discovered that you do not have to install all the additional stuff to have access to the @home network. If you have the modem you can connect. My, no more fluff.

  15. Re:The secret on Mobilestar Less Mobile; Excite@Home Less Exciting · · Score: 1

I totally agree that $30 bucks a month is cheap. I would love it, but that is not what I pay. I have @home service and I pay $50 a month. I love it so. It hurts me to think it will go away. And no you don't have a T1 like connection. It is fast, but not that fast.

I have had the connection for about 2 months now and I refuse to go back to 56k. The only alternative is $150 for some stupid dsl line. Man that sucks. And it only cost that much because everyone wants the cable drop. Go figure.

Um, since when does the media and general public care about the details? I think the reason why everyone is upset is because what this means is that if the government or anyone that the government is partial to gets hacked you can easily be considered a terrorist. This includes publishing security issuses.

Now can anyone say what will happen once Microsoft get a hold of the finished product. I mean it is not like DOJ was forced to drop a monopoly case or anything. *cough* IIS *cough*

  17. Re:A much simpler review on Star Wars Episode I DVD Review · · Score: 1

Hey, I liked WaterWorld! Granted it was not some great drama like Titanic or anything, but for a weekend outting it sure beat watching American Beauty. I would even go so far as to say it ranks right up there with Robinhood, Prince of Thieves.

WaterWorld's problem was it did not live up to the hype. I mean come on, it was the largest movie ever at the time of it's release. And it had an star-studed cast.

  20. Re:Affect hardware sales? on OS X on x86? · · Score: 1

I love the MacOS, I have been using it for years. And don't get me going on the G4. The only problem I see with Apple is the problems between them, IBM and Motorola. They can not seem to get the hardware out at the current Mhz mark/specs fast enough. Now I know that Mhz is not everything, but when one of your main suppliers has you by the balls maybe it is time to rethink some things. I personaly want as many G4s as I can get, but the price is out of range. I 500Mhz G4 whips a 1Ghz Intel, (heres a joke... Pentium 4 ) I think apple would be better to reinstate the Mac-clones and them them duke it out for hardware and shift more to software. It would take about 3 years for them to be a respected player, but I think it would be better in the long run. Then they could also release software for other platforms. OsX intel.

  22. Re:id in trouble? No on John Cash Leaves id Software for Blizzard · · Score: 1

Id still has a strong hold on the market. But what I believe is going on is a change in the player sophistication. Everyone loved Doom and Quake. Doom brought a new level of interaction, while Quake brought in immersion to a virtual world. Quake 3 refines what has been done to date. Half-life takes it one step further by having a virtual world that can guide you. Now it is time to add a new level in realism. Perhaps the ability to flip views is needed. Something along the lines of having a first person camera view as you do a flip in Action Quake of Action Half-life.e

  23. Re:DivX Revival on DivX Codec Port Contest · · Score: 1
Specifically, DIVX is a hacked M$ mpeg4 codec. It does compression in mpeg4, but allows audio to be in mp3 format or what ever. See http://flashingyellow.com/faqs.html or for the self initiating challenged

DivX is a very new video compression codec built around Microsoft's MPEG-4 video codec and the MP3 audio codec. It is not only extremely efficient (10:1 compression from a native MPEG-2 DVD stream) but the quality is nothing short of astounding. Unfortunately, the only version out there right now is for Window's and utilizes Window's Media Player, not making for a very good cross-platform situation.
