  1. The speed of light though glass (fiber) vrs a vacuum is almost a rounding error, you don't see it until you get to 3 significant digits.

    Then those boxes are taped up and sent to counting station. Lots of paid folk count them out.

    A process which is open to scrutiny as the votes are counted.

  6. You could argue that it was the right thing to do. If operations is losing money, but its being masked by some rental thing maybe economically would be better to lose the operational bit of the company. (I know nothing about your particular case though)

    Correct - the number of vulnerabilities will be constant. Unless one of the fake bugs has a bug in it - making it a real one.

    I agree that the lead contractor needs to know that plastering needs to be done, and that the foundations needs to be x meters dee;. I don't care if the architect doesn't know exactly how to do it.

    The problem with bitcoins is that they are too volatile. That $5.00 Coffee you bought today could have a opportunity cost of $15.00 next year. Vs using the Dollar where that $5.00 would have an opportunity cost of $5.15 the next year.

    Well, as you can buy bitcoins with the $5.00 it makes no difference.

How many grenade attacks have there been in the US?

    This is nonsense. it says that because CO2 density in the atmosphere is 1/2500, to raise the average temperature of the atmosphere by 1 degree due to C02, the C02 molecules need to be heated by 2500 degrees. This would be logical, if C02 molecules NEVER transferred heat to other molecules. Or global warming happened over a period of a microsecond. Or some other thing that stops that page being obvious rubbish from the outset.

    Bet they don't in everyday life. e.g. 'hey Jimmy, do you have your lunch fiat-currency?' 'honey - do we have any fiat currency to pay the cleaner?' 'Sorry mate, I'm low on fiat currency, could you get this round in?'

    It would indeed be nice to get some kind of heuristic for a page on how accurate it is likely to be. Factors that might make a page judged to be more/less accurate would be: Number of viewers versus number of updates. A moderated page. How frequently/recently its been updated. The trustworthiness of an updater (how often are their contributions corrected). The last one would probably be tricky to implement - but would effectively take the benefits of peer-review into Wikipedia.
