  2. Two systems? on Space Station Toilets Poop Out · · Score: 2, Interesting

Why is the shit separated from the piss? Is it because the piss will just fly all over the place due to the lack of gravity? If that's the case, I hope nobody has diarrhea :)

No no no! If you want to describe a growth rate, you should always say "exponentially". ALWAYS.
  5. My favorite on NewYorkCountryLawyer Debates RIAA VP · · Score: 1

  6. Not the first time on Sacha Baron Cohen Wikipedia Entry Creates Circular References · · Score: 5, Interesting

I've seen circular referencing occur many times on Wikipedia, often by complete accident. If journalists actually gave their own sources when writing articles, it would be much less of a problem. Of course they will never do that, as then it would be revealed that they themselves don't bother fact-checking at all.

  7. Irony on Consumer Groups Advocate for 'Do Not Track' Registry · · Score: 1

In order to sign up for the 'Do Not Track' registry, you'll need to provide your name, address, phone number, SSN, mother's maiden name, and the names of all the porn sites you regularly visit. Without this information, we cannot guarantee your privacy.

  9. Waste of taxpayer money on US Army "Scams" Service Members to Test Their Spam Gullibility · · Score: -1, Troll

I can't believe they wasted taxpayer money on this. Of course people would fall for this scam. What's the point? The result was entirely expected. Social engineering works.

What's next, looking for leaks in a sieve?

  10. Riemann zeta function on Wikipedia on A Step Towards Proving the Riemann Hypothesis · · Score: 2, Funny

The popular T.V. Show NUMB3RS had an episode ("Prime Suspect") in which criminals kidnapped a child and demanded as ransom a possible proof of the Riemann Hypothesis from a mathematician. The proof would be used to steal interest rates from an encrypted website.

    Fascinating!

  11. Re:'social engineering' on Mass Website Hack Compromises 200,000 Sites · · Score: 1

Sounds like it was just some (persistent) XSS hole in phpBB that allowed the attackers to post javascript. The social engineering would come in later, obviously.

  20. Speaking of good journalism... on Gamespot's Editorial Problems in Perspective · · Score: 5, Informative

"GameSpot's cheat site" is called GameFAQs. The poll wasn't "hacked" - an employee apparently created it as a joke and let it go up on the site for 45 minutes, either intentionally or accidentally (the official story from Allen Tyner, the GameFAQs editor, was that it was accidental).

  21. Explosive contents? on FBI Burying Doc Showing US Officials Stole Nuclear Secrets? · · Score: 1

Before anyone starts discussing the 2/500 statistic, remember that the interview method - asking an auditorium of college students to raise their hand - is not the best way to get a truthful response. The percentage of people who believe that downloading a movie/album illegally is wrong is probably much higher.
