In the 1980's, I got my first SLR after owning a bunch of crappy 110's. It was a basic Pentax and cost a little over $100. It had no flash and manual everything, including threading the film, but was the best camera I ever owned. 35mm film was expensive on an Army salary, so I had to plan every shot I took. I could take shots with that camera that I have never been able to take with any other. Went down into the dimly-lit tunnels of the Maginot Line and took some perfect pictures there, with no flash. The simple expedient of setting the camera on something solid and having a long exposure time does wonders.
I now have a DSLR, but it doesn't work nearly as well as my old Pentax. I am get another one if I can find it.
The SR-71 was one bad-assed plane. I got to look at one up close in Pamldale about 1972 when I was about 5. Prettiest bird ever. When they retired it, the last one flew from LA to DC in about an hour. Think about that. And keep in mind, they designed it in late 1950'/earily 60's. If they had that, imagine what kind of bad-assed shit they have flying now.
Lynx support would be awesome for many tech support sites. Almost without fail, these now have "rich" interactive webpages with lots of java script. Try uploading trace files and logs over a crappy connection with XWindows and Firefox where simply clicking on a dialog box can take 10 minutes.
Make sure you get the official documention from Ahttp://docs.puppetlabs.com/. I haven't really seen any books or anything else that is as complete and accurate, especially the reference and learning puppet books.
I find the "puppet resource" command is one of the most useful. You can use it to generate a script for a given configuration and use it to duplicate it elsewhere.
Coming into Orlando, I picked up my crappy Dodge rental and took the road to I95 and the east coast, which was a toll road. I saw the signs for the toll booth - 1 mile and expected the usual drill. Come 1 mile and where is the toll booth? It turns it you had to have EXITED the highway a ways back to go through the tollbooth. Anyone who actually STAYS on the highway without one of those easy pass things gets a ticket. I guarantee that will trap 90% of people out of town. Nice racket if you can pull if off...
It seems like every time I make a change to something in the Windows Registry, I have to reboot. On Linux, I usually just have to restart the app or service that uses it.
Actually, there was a major upgrade in the Windows CMD shell from NT4 to Windows 2000. The CMD shell is surprisingly powerful, but poorly documented. The best documentation is available in the man pages, which can be accessed by the HELP command.
Ironically, I just ordered my first Slackware DVD today. I have been running Red Hat and Debian variants for years. At work, our enterprise has had a strictly Windows only policy for years. Now, our management is fully committed to an enterprise-wide migration of Windows to Linux for our Oracle database servers (over 500 of them), and I am in charge of it.
The reason I ordered slackware is because it requires in-depth knowledge of Linux, something the other distros don't require as much. I figure this will help out with the deployment at work.
Conference calls are extremely annoying - for all of the reasons you mentioned. But they beat the shit out of the alternative - an actual fucking meeting. At least you can put it on mute and get some real work done.
Across the pond, we have alligator meat which is one of the healthiest meats around. If you are fortunate to live in Florida, you can find it everywhere. Unfortunately for the rest of us, it cots $20/pound. Oh, and I think you can get Unicorn meat from Ireland.
But perhaps they did. At the exact moment the Mayan clocks ran out, so did our power, I didn't come back on for several hours. Afterwards, everything was the same, or was it? Perhaps we are under *new* management?

Isn't that what keepassx is?

Drink beer instead!
There is a game based on this very principle. I didn't even make ith throught the training.
Not according to Netcraft.
The dude on the Dallas Cowboys who ran off the road and killed his friend sitting next to him in the car got 20 years.

How about:
Thinkpad in 2013: Ubuntu 12.10
Easily the best laptop I have ever owned. I know Unity sucks but the this Thinkpad actually makes it usable.

I got 2 of these, both from a Washington state area code. Of course the caller ID could be fake...
Perhaps California should consult with Virginia about how to contract and run a DMV system.
You mean sort of like this?
"Come on, you piece of shit" - most memorable line ever. 30 years later, I probably use it about 10 times a day on my computer at work.
