  1. Re:Draconian EULA on World of Warcraft's Brand New Rootkit · · Score: 2, Insightful

Actually, knowing Blizzard's history (and more specifically their history with WoW) it most likely is in their EULA and/or TOS somewhere. They wouldn't knowingly do something that isn't. All it would take is to update the EULA and/or TOS when the patch is applied, seeing as you have to accept the EULA and TOS everytime you install a patch. Not their fault if you didn't read it.

They are an internationally-known company bringing in millions of dollars a month from the most popular online game in the world. I'm sure they pay attention to what is and isn't in their agreements.

  3. Graphics, and all that noise. on Call of Duty 4 Review · · Score: 4, Interesting

As others have stated, I don't really understand what the problem is if a game has good graphics, good gameplay, but doesn't do anything new. Much like Gears of War, the graphics are a major part of what make COD4 so immersive and so good...the action in the game is downright intense, the sound is fantastic (definately one to put the stereo up to 11 for) and the story is engrossing. The game is a bit short for my tastes (10-15 hours is the sweet spot for shooters, IMO) but what is there is still great.

Liek others have said, a game doesn't have to be original or super innovative to be a great game...with COD4, it's clear to me that the team focused on multiplayer moreso than single player (hence the "lacking" single player campaign). While I personally would choose gameplay over graphics, in some cases the graphics directly impact the gameplay.

Or would you prefer Ace Combat 6 to have the same graphics as the old 5 1/4" floppy game MiG-29?

Actually, I would say it's people like YOU that are the primary reason the country is fucked. People like you who choose sides, who label your fellow American citizens instead of uniting with one another. How about instead of arguing with each other over who is less corrupt, why don't people realize that republicans and democrats ARE BOTH AMERICAN!!! YOU ARE ON THE SAME TEAM!!!

Maybe if you folks would stop squabbling with each other, issues would actually be resolved and we wouldn't be as fucked as we are. Fighting amongst ourselves solves NOTHING. All it does is make us look like a child throwing a tantrum. The two party system as it exists today (along with the lines of division it creates amongst the citizens of the US) is the root of all of our problems.

So whose fault is it, would you say? Parents, for not teaching their children these basic things about the Internet (i.e. they only know as much as you tell them) or is it the kid's fault for being a complete moron?

Another good reason is that it is far cheaper (at least last time I checked prices) to go with AMD...especially if you aren't doing any gaming or audio/video work. While Core 2 blasts AMD out of the water, the price difference makes AMD a very smart buy for every-day use. For gaming, AMD's offerings still work great, and the money you save on the processor can instead be used towards a more powerful video card.
