  1. Good idea on Introducing GNU/Linux Via Applications · · Score: 5, Insightful

This is a good idea. Instead of alienating users, they can make them more familiar with the benefits of open-source while letting them keep the OS they know how to use. Wow, a first post. I never thought I'd make it.

  2. Re:Finally!! on DMCA Creator Admits Failure, Blames RIAA · · Score: 5, Funny

Now, how long will it be before the RIAA comes around and changes their attitude on downloading music? I asked God, but he said it wouldn't be in his lifetime.
  3. Why it will fail. on Why the Semantic Web Will Fail · · Score: 1

The reason this will not work is because businesses don't want to share information. They want to make as much money as they can from it. The Semantic Web will look appealing to smaller organizations and individuals, but businesses won't consider it.

  11. Use for this stuff on Reflectivity Reaches a New Low · · Score: 3, Interesting

I think they should coat television and computer monitor screens with this material. This will help to see the image being displayed, since there will not be any glare to obscure the image.

IANAQP, but this could mean our universe is just a huge black hole with a 4-dimensional hypertorus surrounding it. That could account for why our universe will collapse one day.

  15. Re:Difficult to explain to non-techies... on Fight DRM While There's Still Time · · Score: 1
Every time I meet with a client, I try to bring up a conversation about Windows vs Open Source technologies so I can explain why Windows Vista is the devils operating system.

I thought BSD was the devil's operating system.

  16. Re:Capitulating to the power of 'internet' ? on Music Companies Mull Ditching DRM · · Score: 1

Internet IS 'the people'. Internet is "us". "WE" are internet. And all this time, I thought the Internet was a global network of computers that communicated using TCP/IP. Where have I been?

  17. DRM-free format on Beware the Apple iPhone iHandcuffs · · Score: 1

Check this out. Its technical specs prevent vendors from installing any type of DRM.

I think we should just give up with MP3s and use this format instead.

  18. Re:A parents view on UK Schools At Risk of Microsoft Lock-In · · Score: 1

I agree with you. A lot of kids I know haven't even heard of Linux. Kids won't be living only in a world of Microsoft software.

I think the schools are fueling Microsoft's monopoly. If students only learn about Microsoft Office and Windows, than those will be the systems they will be most inclined to buy. They will be blinded to a world of diversity.
