Then, again, it could be the OP is using their ISP's NNTP servers, so he doesn't get the groups or the binaries or the retention that the rest of us do for a few bucks a month. Ive always used my ISPs server without a problem (I dont bother with binaries) Usenet is far from dead in fact its very much alive its just shifted off to the side of the spotlight.

Actually, I'm more pissed as a content provider then I am as a consumer. How dare they! If I wanted advertising on my content, I'd put it there, and get paid for it. For me, this is totally stealing from content providers and not just annoying to consumers. I mean, isn't that like making money off of other peoples content? Not only that they are also defacing your content. I DON'T want my users seeing ads so I don't place ads anywhere on my site.

It's the same as the famous "Do Not Call" list that stops me from getting bothersome phone spam, except that Banks, Credit Card Companies, Insurance Companies, Health Care Companies, Charities, and a hundred other categories are NOT FRIGGIN' COVERED by the "Do Not Call" list. We now have the same thing in Australia. Whats the point in exemptions i hang up on them all what good is it doing denying me the right to block morons from calling me!

That would be an illegal business model. However, if you do follow through on the rest and take them to court and win most, then it's perfectly legal. It is illegal to threaten lawsuits without cause. It's not illegal to offer a settlement if you do have cause. The RIAA cant prove anything If I download a file they cannot prove that I did so why not just accuse them of making up all their evidence? "Uh y-yeh." He mumbled, shocked.
If thats how you treat customers them your not fit to run a bussiness dont blame others for your imcompitence. Its your fault if you stay in a failing market. Theres a good reason you dont see many candlestick makers around anymore? Next were going to have the video store owners complaining that they cant make a Living. Now excuse me while I go back to my stall in the city center selling horseshoes!
