I bought the redone Monkey Island games on Xbox live. That brought back a lot of memories. You can even switch between the retro graphics and the new graphics.
Well, I have a RAID 6 and I just noticed the other day that one disk dropped out. Waiting for WD to ship me a replacement.
Talk about alarm/monitoring fail: the monitoring tools nor the card gave any hint of a problem. Wonder how long it's been like that.
Most of the stuff I have on my computer I could care less if I lost it. Pictures? Meh. The ones I cared about I actually had developed. Music? Meh. I'll re-rip all my CDs. That's a pain, but I wouldn't technically lose anything. Other miscellaneous (taxes, etc.)? Have hard copies.
Even for nonprofits VMWare is excessively expensive. Most vendors are half price or so (some are even 75%), but not VMWare. If I remember right they were 95% of the original price.
It's one thing if someone hauls up a phone and snaps a couple of pictures or a short video clip, but recording video and audio constantly, that's a big Asshole act...
Even worse, it takes reality TV to a whole new level with youtube. Ick.
In Canada, a flashing arrow means you can go as opposite traffic is stopped. I've been driving for 20 years across three provinces and have never seen otherwise. Maybe that's a Quebec thing? They seem to do odd stuff there.
A normal flashing green light is pedestrian controlled and can change when a button is pressed by a pedestrian.
It's pretty bad that opposite ends of the country do different things with traffic lights.
Ask Steam how they feel about that now that Microsoft is trying to run their own app/game store in Windows 8. They're definitely feeling the squeeze and are looking towards their own platform.
Just because Microsoft is not directly competing with these companies now doesn't mean they won't do it in the future.
Spoken from someone stuck on a single 800x600 monitor.
Having more resolution allows you to have more open side-by-side, or even better yet, more than one monitor way increased my productivity at work. Being able to see multiple things at the same time can vastly improve workflow. Not rocket science.
I wonder what it'll take before manufacturers will realize a mechanical failsafe is required? This isn't the first story I've read of this happening, and it surely won't be the last.
I was wondering if it would go back and autocorrect your work. It is strange to get a 'you are spelling this wrong' indicator but not have the proper spelling available. They need to put in a holographic projector in the pen and problem solved.
I kind of like the numbers: 100,000 unfilled jobs. Back when I was looking for work many moons ago there were a lot of IT jobs that wanted you to work like a slave for peanuts. No wonder they don't get filled.

Until the transportation ministries/departments focus on getting people around and not cars around, nothing will change.

Naw, if they can't bomb the blast-proof door, they just move a few feet down and blow a hole in the 6" wall.
I dunno, I read this and thought this was for the [older?] cops that can't be on active street duty for whatever reason. They sit at a desk and work.

They're insane.
Reading the summaries/articles are for newbies, I use ESP. Look how far it's gotten me!

He's talking about Free-to-air. Probably of the satellite variety.

Most people do the opposite - when the crosswalk light blinks they increase their speed to get through the intersection so they don't have to stop.
What if you exercise while watching TV?
Exercising is pretty damn boring.
My Nexus 7 fits fine in my shirt pocket. While the Nexus is occupying the pocket, I can't use it for anything else though...
Pretty sure that any case that fits on the Nexus 7 makes it too big to fit in most pockets though.
Firstly make sure there's a damn good non-guessable password on his existing email account!

Then you want to be the person (or persons) responsible for maintaining the machinery.
I use RealCalc by Quartic Software.
I tried many free calculators, but this one was so good I bought the paid version for a few bucks. Damn handy to have.
Presumably if they're unable to use a finger to press a key on the keyboard they wouldn't be able to dial a phone number either...
Well, if my own experience means anything, just redirect all web queries to Bing. They won't be able to find (or do) anything relevant.
