I too am sick of PHP getting bashed all the time...And yes I'm a web developer who writes in PHP...
It's easy to write secure code and get the job done and I prefer it because it reminds me of C (my second language of choice).

Yes a lot of people write bad code in PHP, and I've seen my fair share of that...also a lot of people write freaking dangerous code in C.
Should we bash C for making overflows so easy a pitfall?
Because I've never seen a developer make that argument...

    What about Java?
A lot of universities teach only Java now, of course someone who only knows Java isn't a real developer is he? So let's ban Java.

Oh! oh! And guns...people shoot each other every day...let's ban guns also...and cars and those pesky doctors with their mistakes and bridges and tall buildings..after all they make it easy for people who want to kill themselves to do so...

Here people...Reductio ad absurdum at it's finest...

Personally I have no problem with bad coders as long as they are not in my team...The overabundance of bad coders means that I can negotiate a better salary...
It's just a matter or perspective...like say....I don't have a problem with gay men...it just means that there are more women left for me....
Everybody just needs some perspective... and basic freaking reasoning skills....
