Man Claims Cell Phone Taken By DC Police For Taking Photos
"Just one day after Chief Cathy Lanier made it illegal for MPD" (Metropolis Police Department) "cops to take recording equipment, a 26-year-old local man had his phone taken as he was trying to record a violent arrest. They eventually gave back his phone, but without the memory card which also contained photos of his daughter along with the record of the alleged police brutality."
Darn it it looks like Lex Luthor had gotten control of the police department again.
Exactly, A person will need a reason why they would want to switch to Linux, the fact you like it isn't really that good of an option.
I have made converts from the following cases. 1. Their Windows PC died, they don't have the replacement media. So I do a legal download of Linux and install it on their PC. The fact that they PC works again even with a different OS they are happy and will use the system.
2. Their PC has gotten Old, and a lot of things they want to do doesn't work. Linux may give an extra year of life to their PC.
3. Their PC has gotten hit with Viruses and Malware. They they are too frustrated with windows.
4. The person asks you for Linux.
Linux still has a Gap in its learning curve. It excels at Grandma- Web Browsing, Email, Writting Documents. It excels at Expert There is a gap in Power Users. The guy who wants to plug in a random device to the computer (say a Midi-Keyboard) The guy who want to do movie editing, or photo manipulation. Yes Linux can do this stuff but this area that had been designed mostly for the Experts to use, and not the middle men. People who don't know much about how the computer works, but they know how to use Windows PC, to do their work.
Well the hardware is reusable. I worked at a job where we tossed the drive in the shredding bin (the shredding company apparently allows us to put drive in there and they will grind it up into little pieces. )
For systems with limited access. Where Whipping the PC isn't an option. I would suggest the following. Delete Cache, and Cookies, Clear up your Document Folders.
Then I would run a program that fills the disk with a large file ( or several large files, of random data) then Delete that file. Then Defragment the drive.
It is pretty easy. 1. Warning. Tell them that such action is unprofessional. 2. Fire the offenders. If they are not going to act professional at work, then fire him. He can be replaced, no matter how smart he thinks he is.
Gun Control. You have a group of people who have invested in guns, they don't want their investment taken away from them. Vs. A group of people who kinda care about getting guns off the street but in the grand scheme of things, if they loose it is no big deal.
Yes we could have used that same argument with slavery... And it is still valid. The US didn't have any plans on abolishing slavery, until midway threw the Civil War.
and if we are going to have a War over the idea of Gun Rights. I would expect the victor will go towards the Gun Owners...
Open Source Software usually has gaps in Business software. First OSS developers tend to have a negative views towards companies. Making free software so a company can make more money just doesn't sit right. OSS does tend to give tools for the IT side of business but a lot less on the side of the people with Suits.
Second OSS developers are mostly on IT and really don't have a big picture understanding on how to operate a business. (some of them do, but most don't, judging by a lot of the idiotic comments from FSS supporters on how business need to operate) So most OSS Business systems tend to be small and only work for the company the product was designed for, and rarely ever useful in an other company.
Instead of wirelessly. The car should have below the bumper at regulation height, a set of plugs, that allow to pivot up to 30 degrees and slide left and right a few cm. when it parks, it slides into a set of grooves with triangle guides on the corner, that will power the car. Once contact is made the car does a full stop, and will only go in reverse, until unplugged. More power efficient, minimum loss of user friendless, easy to install, no fried animals, kids, or stupid adults.
For me they seem like they are trying to solve the wrong problem. For the Electric Car, it is having locations where we can plug in the wire, which is the same as having locations to park your wireless charger. Will work pay the power bill if you park your car at work and plug it in or wireless charge it? Probably Not.
The big problem is infrastructure, not pushing a button and plugging in a big wire. Besides if the goal with electric cars is to be green, why waste so much power on transferring it wirelessly?
Because only 1% of the population uses Linux for their Personal Computer. And Netflix works on things like the XBOX and Wii, Apple iTV, and a bunch of other stuff too.
Netflix does work on Linux, there is an Android port. Or are you talking about it running on GNU/Linux?
Technically Woman are not allowed to be on Front Line Infantry, but they can be pilots, drivers, and many "non-combative rolls" However... Modern Warfare, blurs the line, you may be the truck driver, but if you get under attack, she will pick up a gun and fight with the rest of the men. That and when you join the military you are not expecting you job to be comfortable. So a woman in wearing slightly uncomfortable body armor, isn't going to complain much about it. She may do some minor alterations herself
1. I hate everything nuclear. It is dangerous and scary, and it is a nuclear bomb going to kill us all!!!!! 2. Nuclear Energy Safe, Clean, Too safe to meter.
Nuclear Energy is a viable energy source. It is cleaner then a lot of our other major energy sources, and it can be placed in different locations. However it does have a lot of Toxic/Radioactive problems that needs long term (Aka 10,000 years) solutions to deal with. We need to stop being so partisan in Nuclear Energy.
We can expand our use of nuclear energy, but we need regulations, and vigilance towards the technology. We need the innovation of companies to improve it, and we need the cautiousness of government to keep it safe for a long time. A lot of these problems we find with Aging Nuclear Technology, is the fact that there hasn't been much in terms of safety checking, These problems should have been fixed years ago, Not wait and see (and hope for catastrophic failure form its naysayers), or payoffs from companies who just don't want to pay more money for that extra level of protection.
Right now with that partisan bickering we get this. Companies who are demanding less over-site so they maximize their investment by pushing their equipment into the higher range of acceptable use. Government who want to dismantle them, so they let things slide in hope for a good public outcry.
I have seen Linux Crash a lot more then Windows. Mostly because Linux has poor drivers. Vista had bad drivers too, and we laugh and said how inept Microsoft is. However with Linux having a poor set of drivers, we go an blame the driver maker, or the manufacture for not agreeing 100% with RMS view of software.
I agree with the Grandparent here. Ever sense XP SP3 Windows has ran very solid, except for understandable coinsurance, of failing hardware.
I don't think the DC universe doesn't bode well for Movies. Here are the most known DC Heros... Batman Superman Wonder Woman.
Batman is the best for movies. I think he has been "movied" out and rebooted too many time. Superman, he can go for a remake... However Superman doesn't really relate to people much. His key power (the power that will resolve any plot) gets in the way. Wonder Woman, Our culture isn't really ready for a strong Woman Super Hero, it will be very difficult to get a a good hero we will like on a movie.
Others... Flash? He seems to light hearted, and a serious dark flash just doesn't seem right.
Perhaps Raven... Or a Titan movie may work.
But I think The Question movie would be really cool.
Ok the problem with Single Sign on, is the fact we are all going to choose a company for the SSO. Do enough of us really trust Microsoft, who has been in the headlines for massive security breaches. How about Facebook, you know those guys who take your data and sends it to everyone on the face of the earth. Perhaps Google, You will get targeted adds based on every place you login too. Open ID, how much do you really trust a bunch of harry toe programmers, who go to these black hat hacking events?
Some distributed architectural system where you can find many points of weaknesses from some armature setup.
That is the problem with Single Sign On. We just don't have any trust, in these sources. And to have one that you trust enough for the rest of the world?
You are making a classic bean counter mistake. You are seeing a negative percentage (in growth), and not looking the big picture. Add revenue is Googles big money making area. The drop in revenue while hurts is still their major money maker. While it is probably wise to diversify your revenue sources, it would probably still be a good idea to work on finding ways to keep you big money maker going strong.

True... However if the new employee is reconstructing the old File System... Chances are they are not doing their job very well at all.

I have Windows 8 Preview at home... I like it. I play modern games on it and they work just as well.
This is just people going. Oh No Change! We don't like change. We will fall back.
This is a lot of the same arguments when we went from DOS to Windows.

So based on your logic. Forbes makes a mistake so they always make a mistake?
Go back to Logic 101.

Not that Woman are any better or worse. It is mostly do to Military PR, having women die in combat is worse then men in combat.
Yes, but we are use to things like filling our Gas Tank, or charging our cell phone at the end of the day.

He can fly, trap people in a mental force field, and does the chicken dance on top of superman's head!
