Yea us engineers with our undergrad degrees with are detailed focus on our particular sub component on our product, with minimal human interaction. Makes us that much more qualified to operate a complex organization with many people where we need to look at the big picture and insure the experts in areas are on track.
It is often when a company goes public. And must answer to the mindless mass called shareholders. After a few years after going public and with technology you will need to change direction. The share holders get nervious and move their money somewhere else. That is why these companies fail. When you are small you can focus on one thing. That doesn't take much leadership but when you grow you need leaders especially as your core compenance becomes antiquated like in the tech industry. Why don't we hear much about Wang, Dec, Prime etc. Because they didn't adapt to the new market. Due to poor leadership
Actually a lot of MBA don't flaunt it. I myself worked for an MBA not to help me get promoted per say. But it makes it easier as it says I want to be promoted and I am serious about it and it makes sure I am not just type casted as a techie, but that I have other ambitions in life. There ae a lot of people who don't want to be managers that is fine and good. But how to weed out the ones you should put on a management track and the ones on a different track. Companies of any signigant size finding talent within the company is hard. The fact you took those classes helps the search.
Now there are many different ways to get an MBA.
1. Mail order degree. These are usually the scummy MBA who know nothing but how to talk themselves to a jab as your boss.
2. Full time - no work experience just academia. These are the know nothings but at least they have the fundamental which they can get experience with.
3. Fast Track - weekend programs covering a full class in 2 days. You get a lot of people who just needs the paper to look good for #1 and #2. They will pick up a lot of stuff. And they have real work experience but they miss out on the fundamentals.
4. Part time - dedicating 3 - 4 years with a full time job and family. They usually produce the good ones who are not in it thinking they will get rich quick. But to help the company and themselves grow. They are usually the bosses who knows what they are talking about

Because of this the MBA gets a bad name. Have gone threw an MBA myself at least at my college (that focuses on making professionals and not convince them to go into money grubbing) I found it was actually quite useful. While my MBA class has a lot of engineers and IT people it also has a lot of finance people. These degrees are a little more focused then the MBA which is a good thing too. As a masters is a 2 year degree and not enough time to cover everything.
Skype is rather Nasty to deal with if you have problems. If it is urgent there is no Voice support, And the email links to ask for a problem are vague and will lead you to the wrong path, and with horible auto replies that will just make you mad.
While with Cisco sure you will be on hold for 3 hours but at least you can talk to someone and get it resolved.
Wich as all fine and good for geekyness... However if you are going to do things in the real world and you find that you take 50% more time to make you program run 10% slower then it did before just because you can't accecpt that there are better way of doing thinks, for real work then you probably should find new work.

Oddly Enough Genesis isn't the core of the major religions. It is just a starting point to start the story.
This debates where Science say God doesn't exist will not convert many people and just get them mad and yell at politicians and you get your fundings cut.

In reality for iPhone displays the "Retina Display" is really as good as you are ever going to need, just like we never gotten anything more then 32bit color depth (With is still only 24bit color depth with extra command colors) . This technology isn't really good for improving the mobile devices with screens, but for projectors, which can project say a 1080p display and fit in your cellphone. Keeping the "Retina Display" is actually a really good idea as the new phones can get much faster without have to use its new found speed to more graphic processing.

Being that Star Trek and its following Spinnoffs were TV shows we really got to know and learn about the characters and got to know them. So when the movies came out there wasn't any time explaining that Spock was a Half Human, Half Vulcan, or that he was rather smart and strong etc...
So Unlike StarWars when a Star Trek Movie sucks it is usally because it was just bad, not that told us what happened where our version was much better. Hey I wanted the Clones to be the Bad Guys.

They can Accecpt that Jesus turned Water into Wine, and at the same time that there is no possible way to do this, without stripping the water atoms fusing together hydrogen atoms to make the carbon and other atoms and form molecules, and also they are willing to accept if they went back in time they wouldn't have seen this from happening. However the story is more on teaching a higher truth that is far more important then the actual event. Now say that something didn't happen you will need to disprove the it did happen. But for most things in a religious context there isn't proof or disproof thus it puts it outside of science. Religion isn't Science
I can disprove that 2+2=5 as 2 can be represented in (1+1) so (1+1)+(1+1) = 1+1+1+1 = 4
Also you can state that an even number + an even number is always an even number (there is a more formal proof that I dont care to write on) and because 5 is odd thus it disproves 2+2=5
Now you can argue religion when you have the more radical religions fighting science saying because it is in the book then your science is wrong, because you can backup your science. However being religious isn't a judgment on your intelligence. Your inability to understand a scientific argument and refute it is a basis on your intelligence.
So for every 5 programs you need to upgrade ram on 30 servers. and Lets use high Server Memory Price of $1000. So it is $30,000 to upgrade for every 5 new apps.
Now these Apps take 2 Months of Development so for each 5 it takes 10 months of development Costing the company $70,000 (with all the benefits and stuff added in) To create the software.
Now to make these 5 Apps and have them run at 1/2 of the memory footprint takes 40% more time. Meaning $28,000 for software additional for software development costs, then you will need to add $15,000 for the extra memory you will need anyways to run the extra programs, just half as much. then you are up to paying $43,000 in additional costs vs the $30,000 for the hardware upgrades.
So I will say suck it up that you will have to do your job and upgrade computers, because there are doing more then they did before. Now if you can calculate that improving memory will save the company money (which it might be possible, depending on the factors) then you can encourage developers to code to use less memory. I am sure many of them would be happy to write more efficient code if they know their company is urging them to do so and they respect the extra time it will take.
