Congratulations on just describing every major cell phone plan available in the United States. Considering Apple has been in the cell phone market for exactly 13 months now, I find it hard to blame them for a problem that has existed since cell phones became mainstream.

As for gamers pirating games, they're cutting their own throats. Without people buying the games, there will be no games to play. The gaming industry is filled with financial disasters. The reason games now days are so lame is because they have to be so mainstream-y to make enough money to justify their development.

Certainly Apple DID thoroughly test this, as would any software company that has processes. The problem is in the test platform itself. There are so many "what-if" scenarios available with Windows, it is impossible to test them all. If this were a wide-spread problem, then yeah, I'd blame Apple for lack of testing.

No and no? I'd accept knocking the ranking down a couple numbers if the DRM were intrusive (maybe it is maybe it isn't, but you'd never know given the agenda these guys have). Since a 1 ranking just means people are zealots, it has little bearing to how good the game actually is. As for the second No, EA went through the process of adding DRM for a reason. Evidently they think the tradeoff of making their game harder to copy vs. unpopular opinion with the geek-crowd is ok.

You obviously don't, didn't, and don't. There's your ad hominem/red herring/strawman for ya. Sponsorship? If you actually pushed yourself away from the computer once in a while, you might notice that the overwhelming majority of hobbyist runners, bikers, and fitness oriented people actually have to BUY their own shoes. You don't get 3.2 billion dollars of revenue by giving shit away for free.

And while it is easy to pick on Nike for oursourcing their manufacturing, you should probably look at, oh, I dunno, the ENTIRE TEXTILES INDUSTRY in the US. They all do it. But Nike are the big dogs, so yeah, it's easy to pick on them to try to look all holy and smart and all. Besides, what's wrong with building an image--especially when it is an image that is good for society (being fit has what downside again?) and that millions of people can feel good about?
