Not really ironic unless we know what exactly they are calling a high traffic site. Google is for sure a high traffic site by anyones standards. But the anagonistic party may not feel that their site is a high traffic site, so they can use a white background and still feel energy concious.................... Or in fact they could be hypocritical.

I agree. The same type if thing is happening in the Canadian education system. Slow kids or kids that are just lazy could drag out a whole hours worth of class because they 'didn't get it' or just wanted to screw around with the teacher and piss them off. People who cannot do the school work and get close to the failing line should be held back a year. Do it over and over again until you can get it done. 'Billy Madison' ring a bell? Kids are now just pushed through the system so that its easier for the teachers and not debilitating socially to the children. Fuck that. I went through all my pre university years never having to bring books home and cramming always worked. Even first semester of univeristy wasn't really hard but I knew what was going to be in my CS 115 and math 110 classes. Second semester was like a brick wall. I had no idea what to do. You know why? Public education where the students could persuade the teachers to let them get away with almost anyone, pushover teachers, and the ones who weren't pushovers were either snap cases or kids got their parents after them for being 'too tough or strict'. The schools are run by the parents now, not competent teachers and admin. Bring back spanking at home, bring back the strap or at least some real punishment at school, and let the kids beat each other up at recess and call each other names. Shielding our children from the real world fucks them for LIFE!

This is actually the kind of online game I would want to be playing. A no holds barred, do stuff faces the consequences game. Kill someone run from the cops and get shot down or kill them. Sell drugs to punks and but super comps with the $$$. That is one thing video games always lacked was consequences. Build up an account and if you get killed then screw you, you're dead, or have to pay up in real $ to get a regen, making the company some serious coin off addicts. That way if you want to be a mob boss you better make sure you get cronies, and those people u'de better trust. Hell start a family and have virtual kids with the virtual crying and everything. Complex yes but we have this, the Sims, and intense new games of every genre. I am sure this could be done, just not by me.

Hell here they have anti-bullying bylaws. Kids can get fined and such for bullying kids. They are even passing one for bullying in the workplace and all of society in general. This is Regina, Sask, Canada by the way. I think its just retarted. I got bugged in school and some of the retards I went to school with are still smug but you get over it or do it right back to them. Screw their shit up and/or give them a beat down. Always loved cream the carrier, we all just picked the side we wanted to beat on and that way everyone got their frustration out on the others. Although this doesn't quite work if you site inside 24/7 have not muscles and still suck on mommy's tit.

  6. Re:Care2 on American Class Divisions Through Facebook and MySpace · · Score: 2, Interesting

Thats crap. Myspace and Facebook are for kids setting up parties, putting up pictures of themselves with very little clothing on and pictures of drunken mayhem. They are like personal ads and a be my friend because I have nothing else to do but sit here on msn and put up a profile with pics of my and my friends so that anyone in the world can look at me, get my msn, and then piss my off when they start preying on me. Some people have legit spaces where they put up pictures of holidays and school trips but by and large it is a big excuse to try and be 'cool' online. Who the fuck has 200 friends? Who has 20 friends? Who has more than 5-10 close friends? Exactly. But on myspace and facebook some people have hundreds of friends, most of whom they don't talk to, lots of which are probly just a cute guy or girl whose profile they liked. This, mainly because of the young demographic. Not limited to the young ones though. My coworker had a bad runin with facebook last month. Basically used his space and frieds to spread stories and lies. Went totally psycho. But I have a bias and don't really use these sites but get invited all the time. Pretty much hate them but can see their use. (Lets start a group on facebook/myspace 'One legged, bearded, 5.5 feet tall, brown hair, pink eyes, and totally drunk group' and see who the hell joins it trying to belong.)

I thought this was pretty weird knowing that UK is one of the most watched countries in the world via CCTV but the article did say that even they have rules by which the information can be viewed and shared. Funny thing is even they are breaking their own rules (see article) so I doubt anyone besides rights groups and mabye high courts will do anything about a citizens complaints. Mabye Google should start having like paid holidays or something where everyone is mandated to stay in their house with curtains/blinds closed while they take pics of our streets. Although I am sure someone would figure out a way to complain about that too....

You hit the mark with those 2D fighting games. Thats the one thing that would draw me to the wii(besides the price). I love to play Mortal Kombats and the Street Fighters. Played Mario World again for the SNES and man was that a blast. The graphics were pretty hokey compared to todays though. The one thing I'm sure the wii could improve was the lagout I experienced when detonating 50+ lemmings hehe. Mabye there is a possibility of a comeback for 2D games with Microsofts release of their development software for the Xbox and PC. Time will tell.
