Im sure the fact that this passed had absolutely nothing to do with the $2.8 million travel tab that FCC officials have been showered with by the people they are supposed to regulate.
Not a thing.
Does anyone except the people that stand to profit from this really think its a Good Thing?
Occasionally there are a few jems. Theres a Jazz station I used to listen to in DC, when I actually owned a radio. Is that still around?
Television still produces a couple of fantastic shows each season. The Simpsons and King of the Hill are continually entertaining and intelligent.
Oddly enough, one of the reasons the Simpsons still maintain an edge after all these years is that they refuse notes from execs. Writers get free reign in the show. Hence the lack of a "corporate feel."
Comedy Central and Cartoon Channel are still quite entertaining. Its unfortunate what has happened to scifi channel.. but they still show mst3k.
After a year or two it has become a lifestyle problem, not a "drug" problem.
I, myself, have never tried cocaine. I have had the opportunity to on several occasions, but I dont think speed is my drug-of-choice. Im highstrung enough as it is. I think anything beyond caffiene would drive me nutso. Even those little yellow speed pills that everyone used to pop back in HS gave me the shakes.
No thanks.
You have to blame the cocaine usage on the PERSON, not the drug. There are far more people that do cocaine once every year or so then people that do it daily.
Frankly if you cant resist the "OMFG GOTTA HAVE MORE!" that cocaine thrusts onto your person, you shouldnt be doing it. Yes, it is addictive. But you dont have to succumb to the addiction.
Same thing with games. Sure I can play videogames for hours and hours on end. You should watch me play Rez. But I have learned how to WALK AWAY from the game. Hell, Ive done it at arcades mid-game because it was time to leave.
While implanting them into people's bodies is a sorely bad idea (unsafe!), there is no reason that you couldnt now make an affordable pillow/blanket/bed out of this stuff..
It would be like sleeping on a giant... ah nevermind.:)
Unfortunatly, these sales trends wont continue unless Apple can get more music contracts. No torpedo-ing will happen unless this occurs...
Even then, does Apple's model adequatly compensate the artist? Does it allow entry for independant artists? Does it even have the potential to work against the RIAA, or will it simply strengthen its grip?
I recently purchased an Onkyo Home-Theater-In-A-Box. It performs beautifully and I now realize what Ive been missing listening to music out of tinny computer speakers for so many years.
Only 500$ and I have a great reciever With 5.1 speakers.
Sony is a very large company. There are constant battles being fought between the different parts of it. You think sony music entertainment enjoys the fact that sony sells pocket mp3 players?
You could just go ask the director (miyazaki) who, upon being told he won an oscar said he was more interested in capturing the hearts of children than Hollywood's highest honor.
Because news sources are supposed to report what is truthful, not what is profitable.
Is this so difficult to understand?

Almost entirely.

My guess would be is that its because he is a dumbass.
But thats just a guess, I dont know the guy.

Marvin the martian
"The eliudium pew 36 explosive space modulator! that creature has stolen the SPACE MODULATOR."
I didnt send any emails, and this was my first post to the thread.

FF1, actually.
Got Final Fantasy Origins?
Am I the only one who had the Final Fantasy battle victory music pop into their heads after seeing this headline?
Of course, my verbal reply would be. "Duh, its about time." But hey, this is good.
I hope the judge gets some nookie for this one.
Hey, I know the administration has a plan for something. They have a plan for getting re-elected.
Excellent.

num num.
I got the HT-S650, if you want to know.
So, where would Onkyo be on this list?

Always conflict within sony.
Im sure that there is no way all of these DRM protections will ever be bypassed.
Yeah.
*snicker*
Why not just get a gameboy camera?! :D
Uh.
How about the time it takes to CREATE all those prints and distribute them to the theaters.
Give it time. The run will expand based upon the success of the 800, and those 800 WILL be succesful.

Does that answer your question?
Except that disney has worldwide distribution rights for almost all of studio ghibli's stuff. They stand to profit greatly from the success of anime.
