You're right about this. There are a few doctors and medical professionals in my family. It's really expensive to go to medical school and there is a big shortage of primary care physicians because it doesn't pay enough to recoup the investment of med school. If you go to med school, you're going to end up with 500k in loans, at least. That part needs to be resolved first. This is how to bring down the cost of medical care. Simple supply and demand.

  9. Prime time for single guys on What Are the Best Valentine's Day Stunts? · · Score: 1

The couple of weeks before Valentines day is the easiest time of the year to meet women. Most single women WANT to be with someone on Valentine's day, so they'll be less "picky" than usual. Just go out to a bar looking well groomed and clean, and girls will be approaching you. Of course, you'll have better luck if you actually approach them rather then waiting for them to come to you.

Give me a break. We're comparing apples to oranges here. MS does small too. Windows CE - Microsofts OS for portable devices. Requires 1MB of ram. Fits on pendrives, etc etc. .NET Micro - Microsoft's embedded framework, for embedded application. Will fit in 64k of memory. The entire framework takes up about 10MB.

Sometimes small organizations don't have the infrastructure to put every single form online, it takes a developer and costs money. I wonder how the vendors are going to support another OS when they can't even get their stuff working properly with different hardware configurations on TWO operating systems (Windows/OS X). I can't tell you how many problems I've had with FireWire audio interfaces.

Once this hurdle has been reached, I am all for whatever open source audio stuff comes my way. I use currently Audacity for editing samples and quick n' dirty recording. Audacity WORKS but it's interface is mediocre at best and if you want ASIO support you have to download an unsupported patch to get it.

  21. Re:Legalization on Philips Develops Roadside Drug-Testing Device · · Score: 1

The sad thing is that the way alcohol is treated makes no sense.

This is sad but true. I myself was the victim of a completely unwarranted arrest. I was charged with a DWI when in fact I was sober. The disturbing part is even though both alcohol tests I was forced to take indicated I had no alcohol in my system and the drug test indicated I had no drugs in my system, the DA still decided to pursue the case. It's a numbers game. The PD's goal is to hand out as many tickets as possible and the DA's goal is to convict as many people as possible. It cost me $3,500 in legal fees, but finally the DA dropped the case.

I wanted to sue the town, but my attorney advised it would be a waste of time and money on my part because I was sure to loose.
