I doubt that the stereotypical ^H^H^H^H averave/.'er understands the "beautiful woman in your bed" part. Could this be rephrased to something closer to a bucket of nachos?
There are a ton of PDF readers about (especially for windows). I had to print one a few months ago for my companies legal department that had the print function locked out (print button grayed out, in the Adobe reader anyway). It took a few goes but I eventually found one that allowed me to print it. Sorry but I don't remember what it was, however it was for windows only. XPDF was the first thing I tried and was a bit surprised that it accepted this "do not print" flag. I don't know if this document was DRM protected somehow or if there is just an option if Acrobat creator (or whatever it was made in) to disable printing.
Great idea but there is one small problem. The virtual server has to talk to the hardware directly, to do that you really some form of OS to do that job for you and it still need to know how to interface with the hardware. There is a good reason for not being able to run something like ESX server on any old box. Even with a simple interface you still need to be able to write to memory / disk, whatever.
Something to think about before you throw too much money behind your idea.
Not sure how "old" a T30 would be classed, but I'm posting from one running Ubuntu 6.10. Pretty damn close to Etch. The install process was pretty much clicking next. Big deal, Windows has been this way for a long time. The problem comes when I want to install something that is not in apt. I want to be able to give my grandparents a CD that they can pop in, it autoruns and they just keep clicking next and they can install GoogleEarth or whatever everybody is playing with at the time without having to write a script that will do all the work for them. When the application vendors can do that, then "Linux" is easy to use. If the "Linux for human beings" still requires knowing the difference between a pop tart and a command line then it is too hard. The big distro vendors have made it easy to run the OS. All I need now is for the big apps to have "click next" installers for X and I never have to hear "my windows is broken" again. Sorry for the off topic rant but, tis the season to visit relatives who have computers.
We are aware of the problems with the "Alcohol Consumption" sub-game. We are developing a patch but in the mean time there are several fixes you may want to try. 1 - Have your character consume "Coffee", many have reported the effects of the alcohol game to be less severe 2 - Play the game more often. Yes this may sound silly at first, but the routine for processing the alcohol seems to be more efficient when your character improves at colume consumption.
The subgames are alot more fun. I have been playing Real Life for a while now, and one of the only reasons I got a JOB (legitimate way of making money in the game) was to have greater access to these subgames.
Rewriting the SCO kernel and adding in lines from HURD? Might as well take out two birds with one stone. Or 2 OS'es with one lie ^H^H^H legitimate lawsuit
"1234AX Y" This is a big chunk of my day! What about running backups? '1234oumt01' OUtput MagneticTape 01? yeah thats right you don't need spaces. And don't even get me started on the printing subsystem.. ps save 104816, and have fun setting up a laser printer!
