MS's victims were certainly alot more then their competitors. We ALL paid the price for Microsoft's monopoly abuse. EVERYONE who bought a computer in the 90s paid the MS tax whether they had MS OS installed or not. While Sony is dirty, i think you forget the harm MS did to computing in general. Microsoft was also very deliberately evil "embrace, extend, extinguish" I think time has dulled your senses on this matter. Dont let Bill Gates pull off this Robin Hood act. His philanthropy is borne from guilt.

Sega jumped into the pool with Saturn without telling anyone first. That pissed off pretty much the entire industry. THAT was the beginning of the end for Sega. Dreamcast died more then anything else from Sega not having enough cash on hand, hubris and Sony PS2 lies. Piracy was involved of course, but Sega made plenty of other mistakes too.

Hate to break it to you but the current gen consoles are nowhere near the limit of current HDTV. 95% of all the $60 AAA titles run at 720P and 30 FPS or LESS and then upscaled to 1080p. Not even close. Wii 2 will probably be the first true 1080p native console. The current generation of consoles simply cannot lay that claim with any amount of truthiness

Exactly. i5-2500k is a MONSTER of a chip for $200. The only reason you would go above this is for specialized media encoding. You dont NEED hyperthreading for anything other then specialized operations and time sensitive stuff. For that you should be expected to pay a premium. I would also like to add that the 1155 i7 is only $100 more.

I have head of exactly ZERO PS3 failures of people in my social circle, but almost EVERY Xbox 360 owner i know has had to replace it at the bare minimum once. There is no argument that the PS3 is the best piece of hardware in this current generation. To be quite frank its not even fair to add the Wii to that comparison because the Wii is a Gamecube on steroids. They took an existing chipset, ran up the clock and called it good. Hardware wise the Wii is a joke. Hence why they are launching first in this round of consoles.
