For all the Win 7 bashing going on I will say that installing Win7 fixed 3 long standing bugs i had in XP and allowed me to use LEGACY hardware I had that I couldn't in XP. I have a USB sound card and if i plugged in say some usb headphones, because the headphones have a usb sound module, it would corrupt the sound and become garbled. It allowed me to be able to use my xbox 360 controllers on my PC again.
The 360 and wii are in totally different market segments. In overall attach rate, MS is winning easily. No doubt Wii has a big marketshare, but its not exactly the same market as MS is in. The Wii is JUST a game console, the 360 is an entertainment hub. Im not totally disagreeing with you, but raw hardware sales arent telling the whole story this gen.
The part you miss is that the cell makers have been purposefully mislabeling cell-tower triangulation and the accompanying SaaS they sell as 'GPS'. So you can see why there is confusion with the luddites.
With military force, the same way we stopped the last secession attempt. You cannot take away that which is not wholly yours. Just because someone is born in Texas does not give them more rights to the state of Texas then any other citizen of the US. Attempting to take Texas out of the union is treason and would be considered a domestic threat to the union.
Texas cannot and will not ever secede. I really dont give a shit what treaty you pull out of your ass, the federal government absolutely will not never let that happen. Id kill every texan secessionist before I allowed them to break the union.
Yes, its called acting and is a professional skill. Almost any 5-star/executive/platinum level service personnel are, on some basic level, actors. They can create an experience with their mood, demeanor and charisma. Ever have a 'charming' hostess? Do you think that her being 'charming' is not a skill or talent?
First thing in the morning, don't expect a smile on my face, unless I was up all night the night before, and had a morning quickie before leaving the house. Even then, I've never had a job that made me want to smile in the morning. Work is work, it's not to be freakin' enjoyed.
I prefer that work ethic. I don't need shiny happy people asking how they can help me. I'd say my wife, but any married man knows, once the ring goes on the finger, friendliness and complements are gone, unless she wants something. The friendlier she is, the more expensive the thing she wants.
I feel sad that you think this is a normal life. If you are serious, so am I.
There is something else to add, Nintendo got away with a cheaper to make console because all they did was basically beef up the Gamecube design. Im not saying its a bad thing, in fact Im 90% positive PS4/XBOX 720 will be the same architectures but with MOREâ.
Consoles startup costs are offset by the fact that most of them end up being profitable later in its lifecycle as parts get cheaper to make through sheer volume and die shrinks. The original Xbox is a notable exception, but that is excused by its 'enter the market at all costs' mantra. It seems to have paid off in the long run.
Carmack said in a press release recently that their feelings towards open source are not negotiable (paraphrasing) and that every tech engine they make is intended for eventual open sourcing. Its simply part of the entire design philosophy
Your 'novels' are the sum of your experience built upon millennia of human knowledge. To take an idea and then claim its yours and no one else's is arrogance at its finest. No art is made from the void.
The DoJ didnt look into it because APPLE HOLDS NO MONOPOLIES, MORON. Having a big marketshare DOES NOT mean you have a monopoly. Microsoft installed on 95% of all desktops(at the time of the DoJ anti-trust hearings) is a monopoly, Apple owning less then HALF the music market does not make a monopoly.
I dont know about $.99 as a valid price point, but you are right in the fact that DRM on ebooks significantly reduces their overall real world value and should be priced accordingly. They are worth less because of the artificial transfer limitations. And while we are at it, shouldnt prohibiting the transfer of ebooks be illegal anyways? THe right of first sale should prevail here.
We must meet this threat with our valor, our blood, indeed with our very lives to ensure that human civilization, not insect, dominates this galaxy now and always!
You are working/commuting too much. IMHO, you should be looking to first reduce your hours spent working/commuting. With the schedule you have laid out, you dont have time to properly work out and its not good for your mental health either. The body and mind need rest to operate well, by throwing in physical exercise, you are only going to become more fatigued.
As you alluded to, everything in the PC gaming world is being 'consolized'. All the cool free things that we used to take for granted on PC are now packaged up as "DLC' and sold. Every option in a game is now carefully weighed on its potential to generate revenue.
WHile im on a rant, am I the only one who thought when they were talking about micropayments on this gen of consoles that it would be dimes and quarters? PS3 Home is probably the worst offender of selling useless shit in this regard. I was in PS Home the other day and I went into the 'Diesel' store. They want $5.00 USD for a virtual shirt that has the diesel logo on it. Its insane, shouldnt they be paying ME to wear it around PS3 Home? $5.00 USD for a tiny Diesel texture, are you fucking kidding me?
"While this was a difficult decision for us, we felt that moving away from LAN play and directing players to our upgraded Battle.net service was the best option to ensure a quality multiplayer experience with Starcraft II and safeguard against piracy."
THis is the result of a great gaming house bought by a corporate whore. Good job Blizz, not only are you selling the integrity right out from under WoW, you are going to let them fuck up your other franchises too. I still dont understand why Starcraft II has to be 3 separate retail releases. Can someone at least point me to a link that explains their 'reasoning' on this?
There was some thought that Blizz isnt completely stupid and will have client to server authentication over the net, and then P2P the clients on the LAN. At least with this method you could have as many LAN stations as your power will permit.
Not going to deny myself a PS3, considering games are one area Sony CAN and does, from time to time, excell at. Its marketing, humility and consumer awareness they fail at. Most of the first (and second party for the pendants) party PS3 games are simply amazing and are experiences with no real analog on the Xbox360. Thats not to say Xbox doesnt have a great lineup, just different flavors. Fanboy repellant: I own all 3 consoles, and have comparable libraries for both Hi-def systems. My Wii game collection is understandably smaller

IBM also manufactures chips for all 3 consoles, a pretty significant segment of hardware.
I know alot of mechwarrior purists hate it for being too arcade, but they were FUN games.
Dont call cell tower triangulation 'GPS'. CAn we start calling it CTT??

Obscenity is so relative as to make its use in your sentence useless.

The Larry Flynt "Im the worst and if I can get justice, anyone can" train of thought does have its merits.

God damn it you guys! *cues up Aliens from the media server*
