Well, current Source engine is very modular and has seen lots of incremental improvements, see TF2, L4D2, Portal 2 - one would guess HL-EP3 or even HL3 would follow the same - but the new HL's are taking way to much long for that:) maybe they ditch it all and started a new..
Or maybe not and Valve just hasn't enough valuable guys to go around and they all scattered around for the current projects - and the Half-Life 3 team is left with just the concept guy filling sketchbook after sketchbook:)
I have an HTC Desire - which is pretty much the highest end phone right now - and the user experience is nowhere near poor - where did you get that?
I worked for Gameloft on IPhones all day and I know what I'm talking about:P
The FPS concept alone - running with a gun in first person - doesn't give you much to start with, whereas the Tetris falling brick into places is more than enough - you just need to add tiny gimicks. Of course there can be wonderful exceptions but overall I think it can lead to stagnation.
I do condemn however the lack of a proper free Tetris on the Android.
Yes but the PC community struck back:
* you could re-patch the game with the original Gamecube textures
* special mouse emulator was created
* custom all-new shaders
All in all - the PC version ended up looking the most awesome:)
I would think that if it was THAT easy to detect/block the modchips, Nintendo would have surely done it... At what ancient exploit are you referring to exactly?
I log on remotely and work on similar tasks both on a Win2k3 and Win2k8 and I can tell you this:
Win2k8 is a hell of lot faster than Win2k3!
they are running on similar spec machines...
I live in Romania, Eastern Europe country where the ratio of average game price and average income still is way low...
Even the bargain bin isn't such a bargain!
So just because I can't afford buying a decent amount of games - I'm a gamer I just can't save and buy one game a month! - I must be shot down and denied my 'craving'? I never make any profit out of this but I do keep the chain alive by seeding as much as I can:P
Also I pirate movies because - except the newest stuff - it is next to impossible finding what I like.. American Astronaut anyone?
I recently saved and purchased a Wii - but I had to mod it cause there was no way in hell I could play anything decent on it - 4-5 games amounted to another Wii (including Sega Bass Fishing and EA Playground - which is fair to say are average or worse)

They are working on a totally new version of the Source engine - that's why it is taking so long..

I think ultimately this is better as it forces developers to create all new game concepts! There were already 35 Tetris clones?! C'moon!

This - exactly like its 'prequel' Indigo Profecy - looks gorgeous, has lots of cool ideas but in the end is one big QTE fest.
I wonder why they kept movement with the joystick instead of putting a QTE for each step forward:P
I'm sure some Windows default applications won't get counted...
I smell exploit... or lawsuit:)
True that!
It's from the guys that did the PSP/PS2 Silent Hill Origins... so don't expect much:(

Will it be real-time or turn-based? I can't imagine a real-time FPS working on the crammed mobile phones buttons and minuscule joysticks...
Not that I'm saying FPS's don't work on mobile mediums - look at DoomRPG and Orc&Elves.
Back in the day I did a small racing game all in DHTML.
I even added a highscore table - too bad it got hijacked by spammers:(
I can't buy, for example, in any way!

A really hot one I might add!
By 2010 ReactOS will be ready! In your face MS!
Oh noo!, even the Wii involves grinding!
Now that I've downloaded it - I will delete it:)
Just kidding - planning to install tomorrow and review my add-ons compatibility...
Nobody in Svalbard and Jan Mayen has any love for Firefox 3 !
Wine is amazing!
Ran my totally win32 DirectX/OpenGL program - a game stub.I ran a small public beta - never targeting the Linux crowd - and 2 out of 3 people successfully ran it!
