If you want someone else to do the research for then it has already been done. You reject their conclusions so why would my input be any different? If independent verification is what you require then get to work boring your own trees and analyzing the rings. Gather your own weather data and crunch the numbers. Write it up for the world to read and critique. Until then you are armchair quaterbacking.
Me, I have a job and it isnt as a statistician, mathematician, or climatologist. So when those people talk about their field of expertise I listen up and ask them dumb questions. I hope they would do the same if they had questions relevant to my field.

I look at the graph on the Realclimate page and see the line labeled "Oerlemans-2005" showing a roughly .2 degree increase and the "instuments Data" showing around a .7 degree increase. The NASA graphs show temperature ranges between -.2 and +.4 degree changes with the "Tglobal" coming in at about .2 degree increase. Sure a ,5 degree difference is pretty big, but since, as you say, the Realclimate graph does not provide the data, can we even be sure that they are using the same data sets? This is only a "smoking gun" if they are using the same data. If it is from different sets then all you have here are different graphs of different data.

I will second this. I used this to encode all of my Kid DVDs so that the original copies are never ruined. My movies too, but for reasons of convenience rather than worries about damage. Combine this with a Popcorn Hour(my choice), MythTV, etc and you have your entire movie library at your fingertips.

I have to disagree with you on this point. I replaced an Athlon64 3800+ machine with a Popcorn Hour because the Athlon simply did not have the power to play back 1080p content. It could manage 720p no problem, but would stutter on 1080p enough to make it unwatchable. It was also far harder to setup and use MythTV then it is the PH. Sure the PH has it flaws, but it works out of the box with a remote and plays nearly any media you stream at it. Also, if you are starting from scratch, it is cheaper.

You may think you are driving just fine, after all you have never been in an accident, but to an objecive observer you are no better than a drunk. I am sure there are plenty of people who have driven home after a few too many beers who have never crashed wither. Does that prove they are safe?

I too am a good multi-tasker, it is what i do but when one task is 1000X more important than the other it is just common sense to focus on it. The other tasks can wait til later. Piloting a car *is* that much more important than making plans with your SO, telling some story, or discussing the latest events in WC Football. You endanger other people when you are not focused on your driving, and that is why it matters.

Keep in mind also that even unfun, uninteresting games have to be tested by someone. Take a quick look at all the crap on shelves and make a quick calculation of your odds.
