PoE and Torchlight 2 are what Diablo 3 should have been. I happen to like PoE better than TL2 because PoE has more depth. I did spend $10 to get more stash space, but the other eye candy I don't care too much for. Its effectively an awesome game for $10!

This shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone. In the daycare business, the ratio of children to caretakers are high. They can only do so much. Personal attention and nurturing is secondary. Making sure the children don't choke on a toy is primary.

  15. The highly paid raise the average on Annual IT Salary Survey Finds Dissatisfaction · · Score: 1

In the big companies, the cost of rehiring are much higher than smaller companies'. This is why Google, MS, etc has salaries that are considerably higher than the average. The labor market isn't perfect, but its there. The good workers will land the jobs at the bigger companies and will thus get paid more.
The big companies who don't hire good workers (due to some stupid HR person calling the shots) will lose the good workers to their competition, and hopefully go under or go thru a management restructuring.
The good workers who don't land those jobs needs to work on marketing their skills AND ride out the bumpy road and idiots who don't know how to hire.

At the very least, entry certs is a measure of how serious someone is about getting the job, simply because they go thru the cost and trouble of getting them, rather than a measure of actual knowlegde/skill. Similar to the SATs to get into college.

The idea of penalizing people who don't take care of thier bodies is a good one, but its not really possible given the difficulty and hereditary implications (as many people pointed out). Though I do agree things like smoking can definately be penalized. Better yet, screen for all illegal drugs too.

People are inherently lazy. Obesity has reached epidemic proportions.
Maybe we can have the health system institute health care cost reductions for people passing standardized health classes and/or workout classes every year. Encourage people to be educated about good health living by reducing their health care costs. This will justify the discount at the same time because it will improve the average health of people.
