The article criticizing the concerns merely says that they "may" be faulty. That hardly qualifies this threads title to claim that the concerns raised are specious. Just because some aircraft utilizing various amounts of carbon have proven to be safe does not imply that all carbon aircraft are therefore safe, especially one that may not have been adequately tested.

I can set up most Linux distros such that a user needs no knowledge at all of Unix. How is that different from OS X? OS X is prettier, it actually works all the time, and it doesn't need a tech weenie to manually maintain it.
GCC has been continuously changed not continuously improved. With each new chip that it optimizes for it seems to drop support for an older one. Plus it is dog slow.
