There are computer "nerds" who aren't stereotypical. I agree, more needs to be done to encourage these people to emerge, but there certainly are some cool nerds out there....Infact I skydive regularly and as a part time job I do fashion photography for various commercial sectors. So we do exist, but there's nowhere near enough of us!
...and seen as UK government isn't exactly the most efficient thing in the world it will probably be another 5 years before they even try and introduce the cards for everyone..by then these plans for criminal records on ID cards would have been either forgotten or heavily campaigned against.
Many European cars fail American crash safety standards.
Are YOU kidding?
Its more like many US cars fair EUROPEAN safety standards. You don't even have ncap safety ratings for your cars. Tests performed a few years ago showed that the avarage european drives a car thats almost twice as safe in a carsh as an american car!
Just because your cars are bigger, dose not make them better.
No..no reversal, that's actually true, here in the west..well it was, a year or two ago...banks held you up, and forced you to get a loan that you could never afford...unfortunatley somewhere along the line of repaying the loan and filing for bankruptcy the whole system went a bit tits-up.
Freedom of the press is a vital tennet of our society
It is, but yet again we see the nanny state that is our UK government grovelling to shutdown servers that they deem 'innapropriate'. I for one am sick of wasting my tax on causes like this. Why can't the UK do something productive, get up off its arse and spend my tax on the economy, or maybe on catching REAL criminals!
This is one of the reasons I'm leaving the UK in favour of Switzerland or such like once I graduate. I'm sick of this big brother, overprotective, nanny state!
..See we don't have this problem here in England, beacuse even if a 6 year old managed to play GTA, steal their parents car keys, and get in and start the car. I bet you my life savings that he would stall before he even managed to pull off!
That is the ONLY reason why we still use (as you americans like to call them) manual cars in the UK. To stop our kids stealing them!
Once 'GTA:Manual Shift' comes out, that's when all of us in England and Europe will quietly swear under our breaths.
Hmm, well why is it that, then, everyone in the UK (where guns are illegal, appart from the occasional farmer with a shotgun and a lisense for it) isn't being shot and robbed. It's just america, with the obsession of guns that has that problem. Look at the UK's gun crime rate, maybe a few people a year shot per year at most (and most of them are shot bypolice anyway!)
I personally think that no-one has the right to bear arms appart from soldiers and SPECIAL police units...not your avarage police officer!
I think this could benifit a 2 year old quite well...first get him a linux based machine, then start teaching him basic linux commands. And he presco, you'll have yourself a sysAdmin in no time!
I am fed up and tired of BT. I'm on Sky boradband (which uses BT lines) and i'm on their "supposedly" 16Mb/s connection. I can safely say I have never gotten above 1.5Mb/s downstream. My router sometimes goes up to as much as 2.1Mb/s, but when I check that against a website like speedtest.net, I'm still only getting a max of 1.5Mb/s.
There where even two months that my broadband sank to 600Kb/s, an almost unusable connection speed. When I tried to contact BT they spent 2 hours on the phone with me, before realising they had capped my line while they performed routine upgrades (4 weeks ago!) and had not uncapped it since. After uncapping my line, I am now back to my usual petty speed, and, whats worse, is that everytime the landline rings, my broadband cuts out!
Well I for one am moving to Virgin Media soon, the only real service to offer fiber in the UK, so hopefully that'll solve the problems.
The UK needs to get its act together if we're to stand any kind of chance of being anywhere near the top of the world internet leaderboard!

On average, the quantum computer operated accurately 79 percent of the time,
Well, its better then anything Microsoft can come up with...I'll take 10!
...run Crysis at full resolution!?

"Microsoft, Crippling Operating Systems Since 2005..."
...Big Brother strikes again...
We shouldn't expect Wnidows 7 until at least May 2010?!
As with most articles lately, it'll probably emerge that quantum mechanics is behind the survival of these select few dinosaurs.

Maybe its just the "Computer Underworld's" version of cloud computing

I think I speak for every male here when I say, halleluja to private porn browsing without having to whipe out all your login cookies afterwards!

Find where the bees have gone, and you'll know where the acorns are
Heck, we could turn it into a game, guessing which country it is being run from next.
I'm betting £100 on Russia
