And since my friend is just 1 person, they won't mind if just he downloads it as well.

This is how many games start to die, they stop thinking of individuals to appeal to themselves. Cause hiring an extra person to help deal with it (the extra complaints, which even 1 person means $50, you could hire someone at $15/hr to keep 1 person satisfied and buy and still make profit), or offering a non-drm version for a few bucks more is far too hard.

You can argue whatever point of view you like, but the fact is, BECAUSE of DRM, it has affected their sale. I do not want a maximum of 5 PCs installation, I do not want something phoning home every 10 days, I do not want something rootkitting (which I'm still uncertain because it seems more like rumors) my system to play (even the freaking DEMO had this DRM crap!)

I could not trust the original vendor, I would rather trust a warez site, and that's saying quite a bit.

Fluorinert is not compatible with all materials and chip packaging and you must take a great deal of care in the design of a board/system intended to be cooled with it.

It's already been used in common PC setups, see the link in the comment for home tests done with it.

Besides... Why do you want to use it? What do you hope to achieve? You certainly don't need Fluorinert cooling for a PC. It's completely unnecessary.

Then I suppose you don't need that heatsink or fan on your PC? Technically because of heatsinks/fans, your computers are being overclocked. This cooling allows us to overclock them further, thus creating faster computers. This technology hasn't "matured" because it isn't common enough to buy from major dealers with liquid cooling.

It is expensive and will remain so because said niches are tiny.

Since when does size = cost? The first home computers made were expensive because they had "tiny" chips. Multiple reasons have made them cheaper (more factories, better computers making the old ones less useful, and the production lines within factories - making it more streamlined).

Seeing how you're AC I don't expect you to read this and become informed, but please do not squash the idea for those who are interested in this technology.

Larger penises more like dribble, and the pulsing effect is also lessened.

Again... doing it wrong...by extending the actual time during sex, men can actually give higher amounts of a "load", thus preventing the dribble (unless at the end, but that's always natural, like shutting off a hose). I never understood why games try to "randomize" experiences based on luck. "Hit anywhere from 3-300!". The key point of frustration is removing luck, and requiring skill. If your player doesn't have skill, then they will get frustrated eventually anyways (otherwise you would have to make a game that 2 year olds can beat). Everyone will be on their own skill levels.

This is precisely why I loved RTS games, and hated most luck based games (RPGS/etc.). Although, I have gotten into them these past few years, I have started to lose interest based on the amount of unfair encounters based on the roll of a dice.

    Huge difference here:
You quoted a guy who "develops" games. Really simple, obvious games, that came from SPORTS, if you don't see why this was a bad idea, then you may never understand the actual gaming community. He took already developed "fun" and just made it into a "video game". Nothing intuitive, then he wrote some books about making games? You consider him respected, that's your perspective.

I quoted a guy who "plays" the games. The "random douche bag" comment is irrelevant (again depending on your perspective, since you obviously never even HEARD of the site) and flaming. Now you can try and make the argument that "everyone" plays the games so why don't I use their quotes too about "needing" a story line. The difference is most gamers never played for story lines (as my game examples above stated), so this quote fits the more general population (not the slashdot community of "need more intellectual stimulation!")

Ask anyone around if Mario was a great game. Then ask what the storyline was. Guess what you get? "Bowser kidnaps the princess"... Because? "I don't know... I guess I really didn't CARE, it was FUN and CHALLENGING

The difference here is the same as the programmer vs user debate. The programmer can make a fantastic program that does everything, but if the UI sucks, then the program tends to suck and get bad reviews.

Tip: Don't quote game developers who are NOT innovative. Especially to support your debate on story-line, because I don't see what story line you could even throw in a football or figure skating game.

FFXI has remained more or less steady at 500,000 players for the past few years, only slightly off its peak.

Potentially means nothing, 500,000 could mean that 99% of them are just bots now. But since you say the bot community is mostly gone now, I could give you the benefit of the doubt. But... there's games where people actually monitor their characters botting every 10-15 minutes, making it harder to tell nowadays if it really is a bot. I would think a random event system that generated something every 1-3 hours wouldn't be so bad though, as long as it logs which players were killed by it and support followed up on it.

Todays movies are really no better then todays games and even if their are, they still have the problem of just having 120minutes to get it done while games can have 20 hours, books simply lack the graphics and sound aspect, which I kind of like.

Sounds more like a problem with the movie industry than games. Unless you are requesting a 20 hour movie, in which case - find a trilogy or tv show series. Either way, a game is meant to be played, most games with stories nowadays are boring because they decide to force you to watch cinematics, and if you don't watch them, then you won't know your objectives and what you should do next.

Games should primarily be played, and a story should be an added benefit (seriously, the storyline was in the manual, where it should be). Don't expect every game to have what few games that you liked way back when to have.

I'm sure you and everyone else enjoyed games like; pong, asteroids, pac-man. How big of a storyline was there in those, and how much of it do you actually remember seeing how you didn't care to read the manual for the story?

If the game lacks support or frequent updates, I will not be paying, but if it's an indie developer or some kid in his basement, I would be willing to support with buying items I may or may not use. I consider it more of a donation system.

Whereas if it's a game where you get 2x better because you paid, and you utterly destroy the 99% of people who don't pay, then I won't bother, because it promotes playing to be better than someone.
