Hmmm, I'd always thought the major problem with matter-annihilation drives was the lack of antimatter deposits in the Earth's crust from which the fuel could be mined..
I don't know what you're getting at here, maybe you want to create photons using antimatter or something. Using antimatter to create the photons would still just be a solution to the original problem of getting enough photons. There are easier ways of generating photons you know, like for example what the gp suggested: heating a piece of wire.
Because assuming != knowing. Wasn't Nintendo going to announce the launch date in about a week from now too? This also lets us know that there is less of risk of a delay.
Did you get it working with both screens if installing with just one? my last ubuntu installation couldn't cope with two screens ( or more likely I couldn't figure out how to get it up and running ).
I don't know how Ubuntu does it, but a common practice is to not allow listing of directories in/home, that way "rm -r/" won't be able to enter the home directories and erase what's in them.
That'd be nice and all and if you can manage it, great. But it requires a lot of self confidence and security in yourself. You can't expect a random person to have that, especially not a teenager that may not be highest on the schools social ladder to start with.
Besides, there's a difference between having the material out there and being constantly approached by people both in personal and electronic form that wants to make fun out of you (as I understood it). Like someone said in another thread here, if you don't mind that, post you phone number here, I know some telema^H^H^H^H^H^Hpeople that'd like to talk to you.
Actually, on a swedish forum I frequent we recently had a request from someone new to linux if there was anything like WAMP, but for linux, that he could use...
For those of you that want to try out the pushmode blobtrix has been doing that for some time now. I don't know if it's the first, but it's free to try =)
There are mp3 players about a third the size of a gba cart (think usb stick w/ mp3 player). Even if not exactly the same thing I don't think the physical space would be a problem.
In a way VB does enforce and automate it. Not by changing the code, but rather by providing information about a variable(type on variables, more on methods) when you do mouseover on it. I like that the info is there but doesn't clutter my code.
I haven't used VB in a long time, so I don't know if it's doing this atm, but I assume so since the VS C++ editor does it.
Intellectually ready != emotionally/psychologically(sp?) ready. But otoh, at 15 years of age he's probably ready for most of the stuff out there. Either way, the way to good parenting isn't about absolute control, which can't be reached anyway, but rather about talking with your child. Not saying that parents should never put their foot down but it's not the first and definitively not the only solution.
On topic, I do not think that the school should forbid it's students to have blogs, if at all it should be done by the parents (although the parents discussing it with the school could be a good idea).
I don't know if this comes as news to you, but Africa is big enough to have pretty huge "local variations". While people might be starving in one part of Africa they could very well have decent standards in another and luxury in a third part. This is almost as bad as reasoning that if most people have food and shelter in New York you shouldn't be helping street kids in Ecuador (or street kids in New York for that matter).
Besides, it's not as if AIDS isn't a problem in US, albeit not as bad, so maybe you should keep doing the research on that.
(just assuming you post from the US, but the point still stands if it's somewhere else)
On topic, I think it's unfortunate that MS don't want to donate software, but then, it's not the end of the world. I hear there are pretty good OSS alternatives...
Awesome, feeding that to my perl interpreter and now I can suddenly use my wiimote to control my Roomba.
#c++ ?
what?
Sweet, that kind of technology would allow me to grief at even greater levels.
So what? the OP just said that since they were well known and respected it's worth reading before judging, not that they were right.

Sounds like soma to me, and that worked out well.
Goodness Gracious!
Seriously though, what's that all about? Take the chance and karmawhore a little for me.

That is both news and very useful to me, thank you.
Hmm.. I'm a bit confused, but what does any of the above examples have to do with violence?
No I wouldn't try that, even to prove a point. Hurts too much if I'm wrong, or got my permissions set up errounosly.
Yeah, I missed the as root part, Ubuntu has no root account by default, so I just assumed it was as a regular user.

Wizards of the coast announced today that they will start making a My little pony RPG. Coincidence? I think not.
Dunno about the rest, but you can buy houses and horses at least in Oblivion.

The videos are also available at the official page.

Oh, almost forgot the IANAP clause =)

To be fair, Napoleon probably said it in french.
