Bring back the days where car wrecks were real and where many actors and stunt doubles frequently died.

  19. My story about math on How Much Math Do We Really Need? · · Score: -1

I have quite a story about math my self, seeing as how I did not attend any math classes in high school yet still managed the graduate with a high school degree. Then 5 years later decided to get a computer science degree. I was placed in a remedial algebra class, the first day was about factoring which I had never heard of. So they kicked me out and I dropped several more remedial levels down to where we did a whole semester of stuff like x + 4 = 11, solve for x. I thought it was awesome. But many of the students actually went to the dean and complained about the teacher not teaching right and giving too much homework (the home work normally only took me 20 minutes a day). Worthless students.

So far I have taken 5 math classes that I don't even get credit for towards my degree. But I am now in calculus. Cal II next semester (I think I will pass this cal I). Unfortunately I have gotten a C in everyone of the math classes that I have taken. One of the counselors was trying to get me to pay $800 at the university to take a math disability test but bla, screw that.

I know a lot of math but I still make a lot of mistakes, like I am dyslexic or something. I spent about 3 hours last night trying to figure out how to time some events on a discrete event simulator that I am writing. I couldn't figure out how to calculate the current simulator time and time the next events right. Finally it dawned on me that I only had to add them...

Why not just want a small car with a small engine that gets good gas mileage? Instead of burning gas to turn some gears to turn tires, do you really think it is more efficient to burn gas to turn a generator, to charge batteries to be used by a giant electric motor? Trust me, if this was a better idea it would have been done a long time ago. It is a very stupid idea.

So the fix was to reinstall and spend 6 hours reinstalling software. I like reinstalling software. It is probably the most productive thing I do in the ms world.
