That's just it. What someone today would call the singularity wouldn't seem all that strange for someone living through it.
Go read the short story by Vinge that originally used the word to describe a point in technological history. It's about two people's minds uploaded into a spaceship the size of a pop can. Those minds are arguing about whether or not the singularity would ever happen.
The idea is that it doesn't matter if it hit's zero, our minds won't notice once we are making shifts every second, half second, quarter second...
Might as well be zero for all we know.
IANAS (I Am Not A Singulitarian), but I like the idea.
Cavendish bananas are the Wonder Bread of bananas. Most people who have tried other varieties think they're(other varieties) a bland shadow of what bananas should be.
Please post in lojban to avoid this problem.;-D
Getting domesticated by humans is pretty much the evolutionary equivalent of winning the main prize in lottery. Including the over-spending, going broke, and subsequent depression that usually accompanies such winnings.
Um..Cavendishes are perfectly edible when they are black too. It's when they have the most flavor, the texture isn't really to my taste, so when they get black, you mush them up and make smoothies or bread out of them (or anything else that calls for smashed bannas).
What I mean is, Gmail Notifier updated last night, which is good for me, since that is what I use. As far as I know (since I don't use it) Gmail Manager still hasn't gone to version 3.0.
He did it once, here:
Ask the "people" in India if they wanted the Union Carbide Disaster. Apparently, though, the "people" he is talking about aren't actually people, hence the quotation marks.
I would guess that they are actually "ppl" in disguise.
Dell isn't responsible for drivers and software anyway. If that's your goal, hunt down parts that have compatible drivers or just badger the companies that have the incompatible parts you want. Yes they are. Dell is in a much better position to "badger the companies" than any individual. The other companies don't sell directly to users, they sell through Dell, so what should they care if someone doesn't have the drivers they want? You aren't the one who is buying them in the first place. Dell on the other hand, is buying their hardware. If Dell says "We need these drivers or we will be going to your competitor for our purchases for the X number of linux boxes we sell." then those companies listen, especially when that X is rather high.
What, do you get in and encourage the car to develop a personality?
That's pretty odd. That's awesome. Don't listen to this naysayer. Let me know how that goes.
The RepRap blog announced replication several days ago. This is the first time that the machine has been capable of doing this.
The SIMs is a really bad game of being God.

You can grow your own here (I assume by "here" you mean the US) too if you live in the right zone.
And they are much tastier than the big ones you get in stores.

...Waiting.
Jobe? Did you forget about me? That's the third time this month man!
Best. troll. ever.
I haven't laughed so hard at something I found on the internet in forever.
Ray Kurzweil? Is that you?

Vive la Revolution, Capitalist pig-dog.
Oops, Sorry, I just checked, it's Gmail Notifier that I rely on so much, not Manager.
Nothing to see here....
Gmail Manager updated last night. It works with 3.0 now.
(Which made me a happy, happy geek)

He must not have been using a browser with a built in spell checker. ;-)
- 'hit' it? These two.
Plus maybe the dentist one. I'm not sure.
