It seems odd to me that the PS3 would work perfectly fine with other HDTVs, and then be at fault for not working with one particular brand.
Isn't it just as peculiar that the Westinghouse works just fine with other HDCP compliant devices without this issue? Your suspicions on this company are a symptom of Sony Fanboyism. There is a problem with these two companies products, they (not just Westinghouse) need to fix it.
Windows Mobile 5 is a family of application environments (Windows Mobile for Handheld, Windows Mobile for Smartphone, Windows Mobile for Car, etc) that are based on Windows CE 5 platform. WinCE is the OS, Windows Mobile 5 is the application layer.
I think Steve Jobs should be applauded for doing so much to protect Cingular's network. That's a great thing that he's trying to do. Lord knows their network goes down all the time because of all the third party apps I run on my phone. Every time I fire up Bejeweled, 7000 people are left without service.
This entire scenario is based on the assumption that you can get someone to trade a Wii + $380 for a PS3. Hell, while we're making these hypothetical situations, why don't we go for the gold?
1) Get some lame, idiot Wii owner to trade the Wii + Ten Billion Dollars(!) for PS3. 2) Sell the Wii for another Ten Billion Dollars(!). 3) Final Profit = Ten Billion Dollars(!) + Ten Billion Dollars(!). Not bad for a useless, baseless hypothetical situation.
This way, you'll have Twenty Billion Dollars(!) instead of a measly $250. Might as well, as long as we're making things up.
Type I Phasers (the little tiny ones) had triggers on the top that were activated with the users thumb. The patent is for a device with a dual trigger activated with the index finger.
I concur. There's no way in hell Apple will survive in the console market. Gamers are not willing to pay the premiums that Apple users gladly shell out. Not when there are comparable products from proven producers out there. They'll re-Pippin.
Steve Jobs has never embraced gamers as a legitimate target audience, regardless of the evidence that gaming is the number three reason people buy home computers, right behind the web and email. Even now, getting Apple to add decent video cards and support is like pulling teeth. Their implementation of OpenGL performs abysmally.
Apple may join the gaming fray, but they'll fall flat on their face with that egotistical moron running the show. He's gone out of his way to impede game creation on MacOS for fear that people won't take his baby seriously. Apparently, he believes you can do anything with your "bicycle of the mind" except have fun.
What a short memory some people have. Did PS2 have better games than Dreamcast? No, it had a much ballyhooed DVD player and a processor with identical performance but great stats. The games don't matter; exclusive titles aren't going to buoy a system that looks worse on the ad copy. Besides, PS3 lost all it's exclusive titles when it failed so miserably at it's launch.
I equate art with an expensive license: it's no excuse for turning out a craptacular game. I've heard time after time that such-and-such a game is beautiful, and not fun. Fun comes first. Make your good looking games, but don't forget they're games, not an art school thesis.
Since we're all playing junior psychologist here, I might as well pipe up. It sounds like the guy was depressed. People self-medicate in all sorts of ways when they're in a funk. His weapon of choice was this video game, and the delusions of grandeur it engendered in him. He said it himself: he was shocked and hurt when nobody else gave two shits that he quit.
Well, if I lived in that area and a KATU news van was parked outside my house recently i'd be straight onto 911, just as bad as the guy they arrested for the "crime" of "stealing" internet access
They said they detected the networks that were unsecured, not that they actually logged in. Try RTFA first next time.
Its like arresting you for watching the tvs at the local superstore.
And if you were watching TV at a local superstore FOR THREE MONTHS you'd be asked to leave, the same way this guy was. And when you came back you'd be arrested, the same way as this guy was.
People who buy Macs are paying a premium for the style of the computer. That's particularly true now that Macs run on x86 hardware. When there are problems with the style (a la the hairline cracks in the cube) they're right to get pissy and raise a fit. This is what they've paid for.
You ought to pick up Morrowind and the Tribune addition (don't bother with Bloodmoon, it sucks). I was able to play the same way in those games and had a wonderful time.
From the article, he climbed over a safety fence. One would presume the fence was there because the robot within that fence was not designed to shut itself off in the event someone entered.
He did shut it off. But the robot came alive and attacked him with lasers. He made a valiant effort, but in the end the robot was too much for him. The robot was heard cackling as it's eyes glowed red after it claimed its first victim.
Mac people are easy targets for trolling. They've been sucked in to paying a premium for a below average machine. They gleefully pay for style over substance, then feel the overwhelming need to try and convince others that it is foolishness to do otherwise, apparently to justify their folly to themselves. I don't get it, but sometimes they can be amusing when they're all riled up and hissy.
A friend of mine lives over in Verizon-land on the other side of town and he just got FIOS at 5Mbps for about half the cost of cable. I got a notice in the mail yesterday saying that Comcast was upgrading the cable broadband to 6Mbps. The latency on the fiber is way lower than on Cable Modem, though. Unfortunately, I live in Qwests area, so I'm screwed for Fiber. Oh well, $20 wireless is coming to town anyways.
To get the wireless to work through walls, you have to use their patented Universal Wall Hole(tm) technology to prep each wall for optimum wireless performance.

The title is accurate.
Just because it is accurate does not mean it is not sensationalist.

iPhone doesn't support Flash. Yes, this phone is developer unfriendly.

Why do people insist on answering a question that wasn't asked?
Welcome to Slashdot, newcomer!

It looks like any number of Star Trek hand phasers to me.
I hate to be the one to have to tell you this. I never like being the bearer of bad news. Star Trek isn't real, dude.

Long Answer: It's impossible to sit on an ergonomic chair. Can't be done.

You've crystalized my point. Even when I state "I'm trolling Mac Users, it's easy" I catch some sap that can't stand to let things lay. No challenge.

So, knowing that the lack of documentation is the number one factor to Linux downtime isn't useful?
Q: Did you even read the blurb on the front page of slashdot?
