Also, preventing crime from happening means less money spent on the court and prison system.

Just because data mining can be taken too far doesn't mean they shouldn't use it. Is there anything a cop can do that can't be taken too far? There already is a lot of oversight within police departments. There is no reason to assume this wouldn't also have the same oversight. As long as it is lawful and within the confines of the constitution there should be no problem.

An example of good oversight of police methods can be found in Minnesota. The city of Minneapolis had red light cameras installed at many intersections. A few months later they were deemed unconstitutional by the state of MN. The system does work well, even in cases where technology comes into play.

The only bad thing about these laws is that they typically go against the constitution. The biggest problem is that there is no MPAA equivalent in the gaming industry. There isn't a need for the government to regulate the movie industry.

If the ESRB had the same power there wouldn't be any need for the government to regulate the video game industry. The problem is how can you do this effectively, especially now that online digital distribution of games is becoming so popular. The next generation of consoles and games might be predominantly sold online. One only needs to have access to a credit card or buy a game card at the store to purchase games online.

You may not think that there needs to be regulation. The problem is that younger kids may not be able to differentiate reality from the virtual world. This may not lead directly to violence, but there could easily be other psychological problems associate with it.

There is obviously no perfect way of regulating any medium when it comes to children being able to handle the material. It all comes down to good parents, knowing that their child can tell right from wrong and reality from fiction. Unfortunately in our society there are many parents who don't do it, or can't for some reason. That is why there does need to be some sort of regulation (not necessarily from our government) that is fair and flexible.

I feel the exact opposite as you do. Kreacher came to like Harry for numerous reasons. Harry promised and delivered to finish the job that Regulus had instructed him to do. We also learn that Voldemort had left Kreacher to die in the cave and only escaped because Voldemort had been too arrogant to realize Kreacher could escape. Would you show allegiance to the one who left you for dead, or the one who swore to finish the job of your favorite master? I wouldn't have believed it either before reading the book. I'm sure many people speculated that Percy would come around and stop being a "prat," but I agree with you that the way Rowling did it was in a very awkward moment. He should have come around sometime in the sixth book or early in the seventh. Rowling never left Dumbledore off the hook. You get complete opposite views of Dumbledore early on and at the end you find out that both are pretty much true. It could have been Albus, Grindelwald or Aberforth who accidently killed their sister. Dumbledore was shown to be very negligent of his sister. He had not always been the tolerant person everyone thought he was. Dumbledore gave Grindewald the idea of "for the greater good." Grindelwald is the wizarding equivalent of Hitler and Nazy Germany, who also put people into concentration camps. That isn't really letting him off the hook. Rowling shows that anyone can change if they want to. Claiming that deaths being senseless is not really a bad thing. In what war have you been in where deaths made any sense? Yes, the ending was sappy, but that is to be expected. I would have liked it if she left it out entirely and let the reader come up with their own future if they wish.

This revelation is interesting only because there is a possibility of a second gunmen. Most of the places where people claim a second gunmen to be have been heavily debunked in recent documentaries. I would speculate that the bullets are from the same gun (and are actually two bullets). Just because the methodology of the test isn't correct doesn't mean that the results of the test were completely false.

There is no need for a second gunmen to prove that there was a conspiracy or that Lee acted alone, it is just the easiest way to do so. Lee had such a weird life and there are plenty of holes in his life, especially after he joined the Marines.

I really don't see any other tests coming up with anything other than the fragments are from two bullets that came from Lee's gun. It would be much more correct to say that "Experts Now Say JFK Bullet Analysis MIGHT Be Wrong." And it is still a very big MIGHT.

From the article they were basically using pads that you can buy from a retail store for $20 with added protection. Personally I've had two pads go bad on me since 2002. One was because of incorrect storage (someone didn't fold it correctly) and the other was from normal wear and tear. Keep in mind that it is very easy to protect a standard $20 pad. It takes nothing more than a slab of thin plywood with plastic taped to the board. That simple modification will increase the longevity by a large factor and also makes it very hard to store it incorrectly. Personally I've had DDR since it came out for the PS2 and have used it a lot, especially during the winter months. These DDR programs are great for school age children. It encourages exercise in a group environment where their confidence can go nowhere but up, no matter how unathletic the person is. I assume that the majority of PC Gamers have a high speed connection and access to a CC or debit card. Large game developers like Valve, EA and Blizzard can save lots of costs selling directly to people than through retailers. There is a HUGE difference between designs and training software. The beginning paragraph is extremely misleading and overstating the problem. I don't see how getting a hold of training software will get Iran any further along in developing a nuclear reactor.

This is from the article I linked. "The investigation has not led us to believe this information was taken for the purpose of being used by a foreign government or terrorists to attack us," said Deborah McCarley, a spokeswoman for the FBI in Phoenix.
