I saw news of a study a few weeks ago (here maybe?) That showed the same genes that are associated with schizophrenia are also linked to creativity, and that the difference between a schizophrenic and a creative person was intelligence.
I have personal proof of this, My doctor prescribed me a medication-Risperdal(Risperidone) to help me sleep and when I took it, I lost all creativity for a few days. I did a little research and found that the main use of this drug was as an anti-psychotic. I'd rather not sleep as well and be crazy like a fox than sleep well and be relatively normal. Amusingly, pot has the same effect on me, and to a small degree, anti-histamines.
The constant sleep-dep may have had a little to do with the creativity, like DaVinci, but not as extreme.

On a lighter note, when I was 12, I got stung between the knuckles of a thumb by a yellow jacket and my hand swelled so bad that I could not bend my fingers at all. After the hospital determined that I was not going into shock, I got sent home and subsequently to school. My hand stayed that way for 2 weeks and my mom was considering taking me to the hospital to have it drained (I think she said lanced). I was picking at the scab of the sting and must have removed the tip of a stinger or something because it had returned to almost normal size by the next day. However, 2 weeks of school in the 80s, with a hand so swollen that I could not write or pick things up earned me the unfortunate nickname "the cabbage patch kid" That name stuck with me until the end of the school year when my family(thankfully) moved across the country.

Despite the NDA and high level clearances these guys had to prove they were bland enough to get, they are never punished for the spills. I've seen spills that have affected and inconvenienced a thousand employees, as we confiscate their BBs and PCs and they get to sit and wait while we get new ones prepared, the responsible party never gets punished and sometimes thinks it is funny. I have asked people to leave my office because I could not stand their presence any more. If you are going to laugh about creating tons of work for me and my team, you will be the among the last people to get back up and running. Add to it that the IA peeps(security) are usually not computer savvy and you get situations where they want to confiscate our BES and mail servers, and we have to fight tooth and nail to keep them.
I no longer do many repairs like this as my job duties have changed over the years, but unless you are family (I refuse to make money off blood), my rates are as follows:
